My husband and I lost our ssi benefits due to the infamous overpayments. We are appealing it its taking time. I applied for ssi for my daughter in October of 2022. Had the interview in November of 2022. The office in my state that makes the final decision to approve or deny benefits just started reviewing my daughter's claim in April 2024 and this is with assistance from an agency that specializes in ssi claims.

The seniors getting over 4.500 a month are rich. They had to nahe 100k a year to get that. They get pensions and military benefits on top of that. That's a total of over 10k a month. Limits should be set on high income families. Plus a lot are multi millionaires 😮. The poor should be brought up to 2 k a month the 2k already should be up to 3.500 capped at that amount no one should get ssdi ssi if your a millionaire period. Until everyone is doing good 200 a month is needed now. Until the greedy government wakes up. We won't see any increases until voting time in November. Faith in God always 🙏. Only God will help us all. 😊

This makes me wonder if they did something like what they did with Medicaid, after announcing the pandemic was over , and booted tons of people off of it! 😅 Just a thought, but you never know! I honestly think there needs to just be a Guaranteed Basic Income program in place already! It needs to be a minimum monthly amount that allows people to keep up with the economy, inflation and be stable. Of course, it would likely be a sliding scale they'd base the payment amount on.. but people should not have to be deciding between eating and paying the bills! I was literally almost cut in half in a car accident and they still repeatedly denied my SSDI, even with legal representation! It took 4 years for them to finally approve me, with my attorney! I applied in 2008 , got my back pay & monthly benefits in 2012. I gave them every little medical thing in existence about me, finally a lady from the Board of Appeals called my attorney and they noticed something that was overlooked, and that's what got me approved! However, when I applied for SSI for my son for his mental & behavioral health, it was approved within a month! That was also many years ago, he's now 26 years old! 😅

Your monthly Social Security Benefits has nothing to do to do with Caregivers, and, caregivers are paid either personally and, through one’s insurance, a med waiver or temporary care assistance till they can get on a med waiver but, again everyone on Social Security Monthly Benefits doesn’t have or need a caregiver, you are assuming things that you have no knowledge of! 35:28

@@sonyafox3271 if they were on SSI to start with and then filed for their va disability and then started to receive va disability they would have lost SSI benefits dollar for dollar. 50% va disability is all it takes to completely lose SSI benefits. Those people, me included therefore wouldn't show up as an SSI beneficiary any more.

Dollar-for-dollar on all earnings is deducted on SSI. The only exception is child support, where you lose half as much as you get. So if you get paid $300 for child support, they will deduct$150 from your SSI.

I Applied For SSDI In 1995 Finally Received Them In 1998 I Was Having Severe Epileptic Seizures Having Over 20 Seizures A Day Had To Have Brain Surgery In 1997 I Did Quit Having Seizures And Was Put Back To Work In 2001 SSDI Dropped Same Year 2001 Injured At Work In 2010 Put On Workmans Comp 5 Yrs Ruptured 3 Disc In My Neck Damaged Disc From Mid Back To Tailbone Car Accident In 2014 Caused My Mother's Death I Tried Getting My Disability Again From 2015-2018 In 2018 They Put Me On SSI Since 2018 I've Now Got COPD Had Prostate Surgery Three Weeks Ago Blockage In My Aorta Around My Kidneys Two Heart Attacks In 2014 Also I Know Most People Have Had Troubles With Social Security Program's But Life Is Not Always Fair I Wish The Social Security Program's Could Be Easier For Those Who Honestly Need Help God Bless Gary

SSI doesn't pay 1000 a month if a person gets max. Say what you want. A person literally has to be stairing death in the face to get it fight for over 2yrs for it . When a person that is disabled! But can't draw SSA because ther not old enough by the time I'm eligible I will be dead and guess what the money I paid in for 30yrs I wont see a penny of that is just another way for our wonderful government to line there pockets I'm not the only person there are many people in the same mess!!!!

I'm 68 and when I semis retired at 62, I couldn't go over the income limit or I would be penalized for life. At 68, I was told that I could make as much money as I wanted. After the pandemic and my unemployment benefits were cut by our Republican governor, I went back to school. I'm not working but taking care of my health and taking care of myself. I use my free gym membership when I can or exercise at home. I'm working on my genealogy and entering sweepstakes. I have an excellent health provider and I'm getting of my medical appointments and test in.

😢things are so expensive bills; food; housing everything. I just want to cry I been crying already I am cry out I have to get a 4 month installment plan they always say call and cancel it when you are going to pay it off I call and cancel that plan and the lady on the other end said ok you are all fixed up and I said thank you. SSA is not a monthly benefit it stands for The Social Security Administration! Monthly Benefits vary on your age! People don’t age out of their monthly benefits! They delay approving one’s monthly benefits because, they do that to a certain percentage because, by delaying approving monthly benefits they hope you will pass, I found that out yrs ago when, someone else, I know was going through it! 44:15

Hi Matt! I have a worry about Federal taxes... I got approved on January 2020. When the Federal Taxes. Filing came I tried to tried to submit the information online the system stated that I didn't need to to file. Roughly I had the same issue with 2021-2023. I just want to check and make sure that this doesn't come back to bite me.

In 2018 and again in 2019 my benefits were suspended because I didn't receive mail from SSA.It took 3 months to start getting them again the 1st time.In that time I lost my home. Forced to go back on the street.Ans my benefits were drastically cut,also.All because the landlord had the mailboxes moved,due to construction.
