Do you know about collagraphs? It's a printmaking technique where the plate is made from collaged materials, usually cardboard, paper and masking tape. Yeates Makes here on RU-vid has figured out that collagraph plates can be used in gel printing, the results are amazing. Since you like to include collage elements and mentioned you wanted to try transfer techniques I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Yes I remember making a few in art school (40 years ago!) using a printing press. This is done with the intention of producing multiples or an edition of the same image. Will try it on a gelli plate. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nice - I especially like the ghost print. Personally, I know that if I were using a box cutter to remove stencils, I would accidentally gouge the plate at some point. So I myself would use something like an old credit card or maybe even just card stock to remove them.

Thanks for your input! Many viewers have expressed their concerns for my using a box cutter, sorry if it bothers you. It works very well for me, a plastic card is not thin and stiff enough to lift the stencils.

No, I bought another 16 " x 20 " to alternate with the other one. I plan to use both of them to make a giant print sometime soon.

Sometimes magazine images work kinda ok for image transfers. If you can snag some old mags, and some scrap paper, you can practice image transfers on your smaller plate, before getting laser prints. Not all laser prints are created equal either as Miss Froyle pointed out. Can always cut of tear into collage pieces if doesn't quite work out lol.

I'm not terribly inclined to do image transfers with magazines, I don't find them creative or interesting to do, that's just me. Besides, after having traumatic experiences cleaning out apartments of a deceased friend with hoarding disorders I vowed never to stash magazines or newspapers at home ever again.😬😬
