THIS MOTOR HAS SO MUCH PINCH TOOK A WHILE TO GET IT STARTED JUST BECAUSE HOW TIGHT IT WAS I COULDN'T GET A GRIP AND IT PUT UP A HELL OF A FIGHT, BUT IN THE END I WON. AFTER 8 TANKS IT IS STILL A LITTLE TIGHT, BUT LOOSENING NICELY
Hi Ive been breaking zr.30 in today, I couldn't believe the compression this engine has! The factory settings are ridiculously rich, it wouldn't even start! Can't wait to give it a rip and tune it, what a monster engine! Great video
Jermaine Murda yes I managed to get it to start. Because of the compression this engine has It only takes around two pulls to get fuel into the engine for the first few start. If your struggling to turn it at all try putting some 3in1 oil down the glow plug hole to live your cylinder.as stupid as it sounds get a hair dryer on the head of the engine for about 5 minutes to get it hot , this helps almost because it the piston and liner expand making it easier to pull! Make sure to mark your flywheel with an marker pen to show where bottom dead centre is and never let the piston cool down at the top of its rotation because you will wreck your liner! Hope this helps 👍 if you need anything else just ask 👍
Alfie Bailey i got it to go all the Way around now my problem is the one way bearing isn't catching it'll catch then when I put the roto start&give it a try it'll just spin I'll take off the plate & place one way on shaft itll catch sometimes but eventually free spin think I need another one huh
Jermaine Murda sounds like it's wrecked but try spraying it with WD-40 to de grease it and try again but if not you will definitely need a new one👌hope it goes well
Love that cooling head. Hitting the gears perfectly. Sounds like it has plenty more in it wanting to to come out. Glad you ran it with the body on cause I hate to see you scratch your head up if you flipped it, great upload 💯🏁
I bought this engine roughly 4 years ago, installed it on my savage xl, and to this day have not started it or broken it in. I want too, soon. I’ll heat the block up like you suggested in an earlier comment reply. How many tanks did you run through it before you considered it broke in, and did you just drive it to break it in mostly or did you let it idle through the tanks? Thanks
Matthew Vargo I run 4 static tanks on the block trying to maintain that 200° mark then i drive up and down the road for 4 tanks 1/4,1/2,3/4, and then full but all in short burst. So that is 8 tanks, but i can't remember how many more tanks i got out of the gallon. I usually don't consider broke in untill after the first gallon, and the fact that i am not a professional i couldn't tell you that exact moment but in my opinion after the first gallon you should be good to go experienced racers no when i just kinda guess. Sorry so long an answer so many opinions everybody has own way there are videos about heat cycling out there but just trying to cover all grounds. Thanks for watching i hope this helps.
unassailablefacts try heating up your engine crankcase to 200 degrees Fahrenheit before starting the engine, I couldn’t turn my new NOVAROSSI engine over with my starter box unless I heated it to 200 degrees Fahrenheit using my heat gun
THE NITRO ADDICTION I managed to start it up. Used heat gun and protek warmer. Now my problem is the engine squealed like crazy & had to shut it down several times cause I’m afraid it might overheat. The carb doesn’t want to stay in the closed position. I checked all my electronics.
Usually the engines sound is lean at this point, but lrp engines this is normal. He is running rich because the rpm drops to normal. I will say the idle is little bit high.
Nitro Wave they do perform differently i like the thicker axles on the xl and i have always liked the look of the longer truck but they both perform great . thanks for watching
I'm bout to do that do again cause I got it to move 360 with the paste off now when I put bk on outs bk to moving 180 from dbc left to right but not a full 360
Generally, use the same fuel you will run. However, one exception to this rule. When you idle tanks, use a higher oil content. Set the idle so it runs and just let that sucker drool at 190-200 F. After that when you actually do break in runs, use the fuel you are going to run. The high oil content fuel should only be used on the bench. I bench with 18% oil and 16% nitro, then switch to a 10% oil 25% nitro fuel. Can't get 30% where I am currently. People tend to think that a lot of oil is always good. Unfortunately, I've seen too many people hurt their engines because they ran too much oil, which meant they had to lean the shit out of them, so that they would run and not hydrolock. I can run a fairly rich and conservative setting with the 10% oil as it does not choke the engine. Everything stays nice, wet and well lubed, but power is explosive. Anything above 12% is just too much oil.
Quick questing 4 yah what spur are u running stock our after market I went to get a steel one but they don't look like the stock one they have holes in them u switched out the entire spur gear
