In many states joey & his lawyers would be penalized for filing a frivolous suit BUT this CA baby - land of the fruit & nuts. Not only no penalty but lawyers are allowed to support the costs of these suits so their client has no skin in the game. Again NOT allowed elsewhere.

The US needs to revoke the tax exempt status of large religious denominations and organizations, if they are national, based on income, and any religious organization that involves itself in politics. My understand is that Hubbard, who had previously decried religion, switched Dyanetics/Scientology from a lay organization to a religion to avoid paying taxes. Take the tax dodge away from them, and watch them implode even faster than they are already.
