My aoty effortlessly, followed by directors cuts and heavener. Also this is also my second favorite album from them now, after tpifs and now before twie and life//lost. These mfs dont miss.
Interesting throwing directors cuts in there. I think TTG has incredible potential, but for some reason their production quality is all over the place, which ruins it for me. I would say though that directors cuts has the best production of all their releases (unfortunately better than their latest release).
@@metalnep i personally love how epilogue sounds in terms of production tbh, i love the whole 'muddy' sound. it kinda just makes sense for a record like that. But since Matt has joined the band, i feel the production has cleaned up heaps. Either way i love all that they do.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions friend but to say TWIE is their weakest work is like saying Master of puppets was Metallica's weakest work. It's the most perfect metalcore album I've heard.
they have a similar situation to holy hell from architects, everybody thinks holy hell is architects best album because it's the biggest and is the first album most people hear even though I personally think the previous three albums were better, there are songs on the way it ends that I haven't listened to for years but I adore every song on the place i feel safest and think the lyrics, mix, flow of album, and overall composition was better than the way it ends, that's not saying the way it ends is a bad album, and I still love holy hell by architects, I just don't think it's their best full album, most songs on the way it ends are absolutely 10/10 songs, but I can name multiple other full albums that I feel are perfection start to finish, all just personal opinions and they always change over time :)
Ok, so this is my aoty for sure. Listen...heavener is a fantastic album, but for me, this is what i want from this band. To stretch the boundaries and not be bound by just being a metalcore band. Look...how about this. It's a duality. Heavener vs the hell of The Death we Seek. Both have their place. Both kind of revolve around tragedy. Anyway, loved the vid. Peace ✌️
Comparing heavener and TDWS is difficult for me because before heavener, I never listened to IA, but was absolutely floored. However, I’m a huge currents fan and I really love this album but I still don’t know if I like it better then heavener or if im just biased. Difficult AOTY choice for me
have you listened to greyview yet? i would say it's more similar to currents than Heavener is since there are less shoegaze elements and more progressive riffs, i think you'd love it!
on relistening i would probably lower the score for this album to a 9, but it's still my second favorite release of the year! there are just a couple songs i don't feel like ill really listen to much and no song on Heavener is shippable for me Chris Wiseman is a mutant man lmaoo
I prefer The Way It Ends and The Place I Feel Safest. This record lacks in variety and prog elements, it's more predictable, the hooks are better in TWIE and is just heavier but in a generic way. Great album but doesn't do anything crazy, in my opinion is a step down of their previous works. I don't understand why people say this is their best album, it's not even close.
