I always find interesting the comments regarding the perceived value of an item. Those who compare this streamer against the “Brand X which does the same thing…with more features, blah, blah…for thousands less” miss the point: Luxman don’t design, manufacture and market their products for you. They know their market: audiophiles who already have several Luxman pieces that are looking to keep systems synergy, audiophiles with a preference for the Japanese high-end, those looking for a product with fit and finish beyond reproach, etc. These type of customers don’t mind paying for the “Lux Tax”…they know what they want and are all too happy to pay the costs. Luxman…just like Rolex, Bugatti, Apple, etc…knows its market and its products reflect this.
Not actually a 'Network' player since it can not connect to a 'network'. It is a LAN based streamer. It can only stream music via the Internet, NAS or connected drive.
I am glad to see this be presented . I am excited to see how it compares . I did have a private service for the box cutter ,a fine whiskey drowns the pain .😂
All the music I can buy instead of streaming, dacs, wifi and a smartphone..............AC line volatge 230 VAC...........I have 240VAC............. I love the old Luxmans for more than 50 years they play still MUSIC ........and no need /spend money for streaming .....but indeed modern times with modern needs .
Thanks for this. Very interested to see if Luxman make another outboard DAC now they've released this. The DA-06 was very popular but came out in 2010 iirc and discontinued after a short while.
If the price tag was mentioned I missed it. But considering it's a "Locksman" I don't need to Google it to know that it's high. The question is: can such a price tag ever be justified for a streamer? The sound improvement compared any streamer around, say, a 1000 dollars should be negligible.
@@Pete.across.the.street don't let that stop you from answering yes or no and/or from spending whatever this unit costs with a diminishing return after the first 1000 dollars.
@@marcusbrsp if you have a crapy system then maybe you get little improvement after a $1000. Not the case with a good system. But there's always diminishing returns
Nice but like the Lumin way to expensive for me and even if I could afford it I doubt if I would pay these amounts knowing you pay 50% extra for only the brand. I´m sure (actually hope😅) there will more only-streamers in the near future who match the performance for a more affordable price 🤞🏻
