Here is part 2 on How to start breaking. 6 steps that will help you with this important topic. The break shot is one of the most difficult shots in pool. Take on the challenge.
You and the company who makes that breaking tool should join forces to promote that product. This is the first time I have seen it and I'm sure there are going to be some viewers who will want to buy one because of your positive comments on it. There should be something in it for you and I'm pretty sure there will be more billiard products this company might want to produce in the future.
Thank you so much Jasmin for doing these two videos on the break. For me the second half made clear for me something I didn’t know. And I like a many players you talked about was always hit the center of the 9 ball. I have noticed from my breaks I had tended to scratch on the cue ball in the bottom left corner. Or was putting to much draw and scratching up in the top corner. Now that I know where I need to be aiming I will be working on my breaking. I also ordered the training cue ball as you suggested. Thanks again
Great video, Coach! I play 8 and 9 ball and at first I felt like I needed that 25 oz break cue to really bust the balls up. But I realized that the heavy cue masked my imperfections of technique. When I got my BK Rush cue, I kept it at 19 oz and dedicated myself to working my breaks. I focused on staying down on my shot, thinking through the cue ball. I use a side spot and a longer bridge for power. It's been working...I can consistently drop the wing ball and control the cue ball. Thnx for all of your coaching videos!
Thank you so much ! I could listen to you all day. My breaks are gonna go up a notch with these techniques and tips. I realize I need a training “Break-rack” …
Nice!!! Don’t thank her. Thank God. My dog is a Pointer- l thank her often- unlike you, l wish she would stop pointing so well. Her pointing is driving me crazy. Hopefully that won’t happen to you. Overpointing l mean. Good luck.
Another fantastic, informative video! I struggle with my break all the time. I try different stances, positions of cue ball on the table and 8 out of 10 times I’ll scratch in the side. Ugh! 😩 I’m going to try and apply your techniques next time I play. I love that break rack contraption! Wow! That is so cool! Never seen anything like that. Where can I find one and how much are they?
Jasmin, thank you very much, for every video you make. Vielen dank! Honestly I watch more people making videos about Pool but, you are only one, I watch
I know how that is. I only watch women just like her and no one else too. Just makes sense. I don’t know why everyone else doesn’t. Maybe they just don’t understand pool playing.
Your videos are so informative - it like having a professional coach on the TV - Hitting the rack in 9 ball every one I know always hits the 1 ball like you showed - but what if you hit the rack so the Q ball hits between the 1 and ball behind the 1? -- Or would you lose control of the Q ball by hitting the rack there I haven't played in very long time and I can't seem to find glasses that help that - some advice on that would be great or contacts???
another great video. I would love to see you do one explaining how someone can become a professional player. Not the skills but what to do after you have them. How do you get inthe right tounements , which are the right ones and what its like a little maybe. thanks for sharing.
Thank you Jasmin for sharing your brilliant techniques. I am 65 years old and just started to learn how to play pool. You are beautiful and I love your personality.
I’ve always said being beautiful and loving someone’s personality is the most important part of learning pool at 65. I just never said it on u tube. Until you did. But now it looks super creepy.
Hi Jasmin. I learned a lot from your videos! I saw you rack with the 1 ball on the spot, but sometimes I saw in some tournaments they put the 9 ball on the spot. So where to put the cue ball? and where to hit the 1 ball in this case? Thanks!
Great video Jasmin. Quick question about break cue length. Should the break cue length be the same as your playing cute length, i.e. if I use and extender on my playing cue, should I also use one on my break cue?
Only when you break on a 10 foot table. And on a bar box you should just use the front half of your cue- obviously. And on an eight foot table- 48in cue. And snooker table- use an outdoor swimming pool cleaner pole without the net. I figured this stuff out long ago- but no one asked until now. And l forgot so l really never did it. I forget why.
I watched this for the 2nd time just now because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I had not known that I did miss the point of hitting the cue ball easier as though not to break out the balls so much, but to watch how the cue ball reacts and learn to control it accordingly. After reaching the point of controlling the cue ball, I can then add speed. I've been killing the rack for years incorrectly and to no avail, and never had a reliable break. I had too much reliable frustration; nothing I tried worked consistently. I also think I have been aiming at the center of the one ball, not from the angle of where I would be breaking from, so I have not been driving the cue ball through the rack, as instructed here. When I first learned about the L, I thought I had made a stride toward a better break, (so instead of breaking my back for the perfect rack, I would settle for an L and break from the corresponding side) but I still didn't really know HOW to practice the break, so still had a long way to go. Also the science of the 9 balls vs 1 ball means that in order to park the cue ball somewhere in the center of the table it must be hit high and this is also new to me. No one has ever mentioned that but it is immediately clear here. Thank you Jasmin for this wealth of information. I can gladly work on my break with fresh, reliable information and like you said, immediate feedback. I can see my break popping already. Happy Holidays!
But her boss is pissed. I’m sure you understand. It’s just that HR didn’t clear the promotion before she posted the video and he just fired her for insubordination.
"Trust your own brain?..." Did the greats worry about "complexity"... Firstly I watch all of your videos. It bothers me that I don't see more, ... but smart approach. You have a mindset that is incredible alongside a skill that is incredible. With that you also have an amazing ability to giftwrap knowledge into words. I have issues still... I think videos are great to sharpen focus, but they destroy confidence. I've plateaued personally. My obsession is that my lack of time to put in should not inhibit my desire to pot balls. I was better when I first started, and my best shots still today are mostly creative even when they come from a scholastic beginning. Not all of us can practice, but I see myself make shots a person who grew up with a table would never think of. I believe I am a middle level player because of "return on investment", but my heart says I'm lying to myself... Can you help?
Jasmin, how helpful is a specialized break cue? My breach got stolen and not sure if I want to pay big $ again to get another or a BK. Is it me or is it the break cue?
I could use a few tips on how to read a bad rack. Most tournaments around here where I play, it's loser racks and very very few will give me a decent rack 9 ball mainly
And you could help my game by playing in baggy clothes- like Roadrunner does. And by not talking much like Shane does. And if you really need help lessons at the pool hall is 35-50 dollars a half hour. Glad to help you helping me.
I hum too when attracted to other pool players. On tube texting replies. But when you do it it’s creepy. But l’m sure all players like her really appreciate it. It’s only natural.
Jasmine missed an easy shot, come on Jasmine. Somebody puts videos on youtube of all the top players occasionally missing easy shots, like pagulayan, van boening. And you made it to one of the videos. Muscle fatigue plays a big part of that. HOT, HOT, HOT. girl
And prettier than your brother is important- me and my sister don’t talk because l am prettier. See how dumb average looking siblings are? I wish it wasn’t true. But that why we don’t talk. But that’s why plastic surgery exists. For people like you and me. And siblings.
