Details of a new Paul McCartney release in June & at last some activity from the Harrison camp #beatles #paulmccartney #georgeharrison #beatlesfan #records
I can’t believe that the last two Wings albums, London Town and Back to the Egg, still haven’t been released in expanded archive editions. These were two of the greatest albums of the late 1970s. What are they waiting for?
This was supposedly to be used for a one hour TV special, which was cancelled. It's in fairly poor quality. Rumors were that this version was taken from an L.A. TV station's copy. It would be strange if Paul didn't have the actual video masters in his archives. Maybe he doesn't?
Hi Tone , thanks for the update , I will definitely be getting one hand clapping in both formats , when it comes out on June 14th , can’t wait for it to come out . The news from the George Harrison camp sounds promising , I’m definitely interested in both of them , so it’s just a waiting game for the George Harrison Albums 🤞
Really excited about all these releases. Would audio of both Bangladesh concerts, in an extra special edition be too much to hope for? That would be something, as would a really nice edition of Material World. Thanks for breaking the news!
I had not heard that Harrison news - very exciting! I'm looking forward to One Hand Clapping. It will be great having the whole thing in one audio package. When you mentioned that this way we might be getting more bonus material than if we got another Archive release, it brought to mind something I read a while back. Apparently, Paul advised Olivia and Dhani not to release all of George's unreleased material at once, to spread things out so they are able to release multiple projects over time. I think that's what Paul has done with the Archives, holding things back so he can have releases like the Underdubbed Mixes and One Hand Clapping. I'd just like to have both. Maybe a release like One Hand Clapping in the summer and an Archive in the fall/winter? We can dream, right? Cheers, Tone!
Always great to get remixes of Beatles solo material. One hand clapping yes please......that will do nicely. Never tire of this content ...the Lennon camp stuff has sounded absolutely stunning. Roll on with more please . I bought this stuff the first time around its reliving that excitement all over again !!
I am looking forward to this, I really like the One Hand Clapping version of Let Me Roll It from the Archive collection. I’m very happy to hear it’s getting a new mix as well.
This is some great news! One Hand Clapping will make a fantastic album. I‘ll be game for both the LP and CD sets. Hopefully there’s a colored vinyl edition. Very excited for Dahni’s news too. Love the idea of both of those albums getting remixes and hopefully super deluxe treatments!
Thanks for the updates Tone! This has been an amazing week between the Let It Be announcement and the early blurb about One Hand Clapping and the George Harrison potential releases…..we haven’t had much from John or George the last 2 years so it’s nice to have some new archival releases. Lots to look forward to…..thanks again
i would like to see a release of the concert for Bangla Desh releasing the first afternoon show too. it has an interesting set list with Hear Me Lord ect
Jimmy was, like Randy Rhodes a genius guitarist whose career was fleeting. Jimmy only has a handful of recordings, with his full potential never recorded properly. He was only 26 when he died.
Afternoon Tone, thanks for the news . I'm always excited for a Macca release. OVER THE MOON George is getting some love, I feel he has received very little for too long. I am excited that Danni seems to be listening to us fans and it appears he is trying to give us what we want and protect his Dad's legacy. Macca is switched on with his releaes like Sean for his Dad. Ringo doesn't seem interested in fans with his eps for the price of an album releases, but to be fair no-one makes us buy any of them. Great work mate, you've never been so busy,. Keep them coming 🎉
You're welcome Rich. Yes I really hope the George releases happen as like you say, the other camps are lapping the George camp and his stuff deserves a proper overhaul. Agree about Ringo, the prices are outrageous. I have bought all the Eps so far but I was less bothered about the new one until I heard the song February Skies whihc I think is the best song of his that ive heard for years
Nice update, BT. A good part of "One Hand Clapping", like you mention, has already been made available. With "Back To The Egg" and "London Town" languishing in the vault, me personally, I don't get this latest release OR the previous "Underdubbed" release, other than it is the 50th year anniversary of BOTR. While any new releases are welcome (I guess 😅), I don't get it.😮
Yes its a strange one for sure Anthony. The problem we have is that it has only ever been assumed by us the fans that back to the egg and london town will get an archive release next, MPL have never said this. This release is another curved ball they have thrown at us, a welcome one, but a curved ball nonetheless. Its looking increasingly unlikely that the archive series is done , i hope not, but it looks that way
Well it's going to be busy for us Beatle fans, but I must say I am looking forward to the one hand clapping double album, great video once again my friend, keep up the good work, cheers, Dave 😊
Thanks for the breaking news and news too. Some more things to look forward to having in my collection. I hope the extras on the vinyl set of One Hand Clapping will be on the CD too 🤞🤞🤞 I hope as you say that the George Harrison releases will be in box sets with extras as that will be amazing. I wonder what will happen next as it seems to be coming all at once 😂😂😂😂 great podcast as usual Tone 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very much looking forward to 'One hand clapping' thats an interesting and welcome release. The 'Living in the material world' remix will happen - and id welcome that "some things take so long - how do i explain" its so tiresome waiting for these things - i expect the George release for christmas!! Ha ha theres nornally a good 6 month wait after an announcement!! Although as you say - its unofficial! Cheers Tone! Are you queueing up for record store day - for the Lennon EP?
What great time to be a Beatles fan eh Kier. Not even sure if we'll get the George stuff this year but hopefully in time for xmas. I want the EPs really badly but I am unable to go and queue up this year. Im hoping someone will do it for me but I havent found anyone yet lol
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel if i can get my hands on two - ill pick up two mind games EP's and we can sort out me sending it to you - is it 20 quid? - ish?
@@frommetoyou1981 That would be awesome Kier. Thank you. I would like both the black and glow in the dark if possible . usually though they are quite fussy about only one copy per person. Im not sure what the price is. good luck !!
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel ive just been into our local rough trade in nottingham, they are stocking 25 copies. Im gonna go down early- ish - they open at 8am im gonna get there at 6.45- 7.00 and hope the queue isnt too big! I'll let yer know man....
I am so looking forward to all these new releases. I will be getting One Hand Clapping on both the vinyl and the CD, Hoping to get both copies of John's Mind Games EP and Ringo's new EP on Saturday. But I have just one question. If we are getting remixes of Material World and Bangladesh, does this mean that the Concert For Bangladesh movie is getting the restoration treatment for release? I hope it does. The main thing about all of this, aside from it probably being a very expensive time for us all, it's also a very exciting time to be a Beatles fan. I can't wait....
A great time to be a Beatles fan eh Terry ! Im also very much looking forward to One Hand Clapping. Dhani didnt mention anything about the Bangla Desh film in the podcast I heard so I dont know. It would be great if it was buffed up and included in the Bangla Desh box set I think
Thanks for the update. I hope the EP material is included with the CD version since that’s the one I plan on getting. I guess because OHC is so Band On The Run heavy and coming so soon after the under dubs I’m a little underwhelmed. But it will still be nice to have an official release though as you said, some of it has come out already. The McCartney camp has got to know we’re waiting for the archives. After all this time you’d think they could definitely let us know that either it’s definitely coming, please be a little more patient. Or no we decided to end the series. Wouldn’t be what we want to hear but at least we’d know for sure
Know what you mean Michael butbi started watching the film of OHC last night and the performances are something else -really powerful being played by the full band with Jimmy and Geoff so not really underwhelming for me. I would also like to know if the archive series is dead or not. You would think thats its not to much trouble to tell us. But according to the Got Back tour programme from last year, the series is still very much alive
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel been a while since I watched it. I do remember enjoying it. Particularly Paul letting loose vocally on 1985. So it will definitely be nice to have a cleaned up copy. Just sometimes wonder about the priorities over at MPL. 😃
Hey 👋 Tone I’m excited about the Material world 🌎 remix news 🗞️- not too excited 😊 about the one hand 🤚 clapping 👏 news but I will get it because it’s good for Paul to officially release material that was only on bootlegs before
Thanks for the news, Tone. One Hand Clapping sounds interesting. Maybe I will buy the vinyl version. And if a new Concert for Bangladesh will be available, I am quite interested to have this on vinyl too. Great year for Beatles fans and I will surely see Let it Be on Disney +. BR from Munich
Hi Tone Great news from Paul. Looking out for a proper quality of One Hand Clapping. We don't need the bootleg anymore. I'll go for the vinyl and cd set. Let us pray hope for the George Harrison releases. Take care.
Saw this just this morning. Now that's news we can use . I am looking forward to One Hand Clapping vinyl as some of those things you mentioned I haven't heard. Have you ever seen or heard if there's a complete Live In Japan DVD that may ever appear? I've seen professionally filmed songs he performed but not the complete concert
The EP sounds like it’s a partial version of The Backyard Tape. What’s crazy is that no matter what The Beatles release they always keep the Bootlegs relevant. A Blu-ray of the COMPLETE One Hand Clapping and Backyard Tape are a must but it looks like we ain’t getting those.
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel The EP is the Backyard Tape. On the Yellow Cat Bootleg Backyard+ you also get 4 Takes of Blackbird, Sweet Little Sixteen, Loving You and Were Gonna Move which are left off (wouldn’t fit?) on the EP. On the Yellow Dog boot One Hand Clapping we get 2 takes of Soily and Jet. There are some songs that are not on the OHC Boot which is nice.
Thanks Tone been a busy week for beatle related news.. my help dvd deluxe set turned up today! Without you I didn't know it existed! Will definitely buy one hand clapping. My only question tone...were is the documentary?
Hi Beatley Tone, Jase from Australia 😁 I'm really looking forward to 'One Hand Clapping', but my wallet's not!! Bloody hell, the amount of new Beatles related releases is enough to send a man broke! I still get them though, who needs food 😄😉 Well, I just thought I'd add this from JB-Hi Fi in Australia yesterday. On April 26, a Deluxe Edition of Let It Roll - The Songs Of George Harrison is released. This Edition will retain the original 2009 remastering. This will include a 28-page booklet with liner notes and is packaged in a 4-panel digipak. I'm not joking! Maybe I can skip this one! Cheers, Jase
Hi Jase, yes its turning out tone an expensive year - I think youre gonna have too starve :-). I havent heard anything about the let it Roll album coming out. I would have thought it would have been announced if the release date is right. All the best buddy
Sweet......a new revised Holly Days I hope ( cleaned up & made more proper ) & a full sound of The Star Club tapes. Rubber soul 50th ....Back to the Egg / London Town Archive sets . George & John ~ Material World ~ Mind games...& ringo ringo 50th. RSD late 2024 Ecce Cor Meum LP 1st time & who knows what else...
It's going to be another busy/expensive time to be a Beatle fan!! I'm all for 'One Hand Clapping' and I'm very much looking forward to hearing that in full. Is there any word on the film being released? Great that there is some George activity finally happening I'm a big fan of 'Living In The Material World' so it'll be great to hear whatever extra stuff is thrown our way. As for 'Concert For Bangladesh' I have the DVD from 2005 with a great documentary/retrospective, so I'll wait to see what extra stuff they put on it. There's also been talk of a 'Cloud Nine' boxset, a 'Live In Japan' DVD and a 'US 1974' DVD/Documentary, which I have all my fingers and toes crossed for, but seeing as the Harrison Estate moves at the speed of a glacier, ANY new product from George is a welcome sight indeed! Thanks for the updates!! 🙂🙂
Ypu're welcome James . It's a great but expensive time to be a beatles fan. No word on the One hand Clapping film as yet - this release is audio only. Not heard anything about the Cloud 9 box or Japan and US 1974 - all would be amazing to get but like you say the Harrison camp could never be accused of rush releasing anything so to get Bangla Desh and Material World will be great start
hi tone anything from pauls work in the 70s is good news his best period in my opinion i shall get it its an exspensive hobby being a beatle fan at the mo👍
As always the Harrison canp are slow with releases. Wonderwall mudic and electronic sound were released last Saturday and theres news of Concert for Bangla Desh and LITMW on the way. I see this as maybe one release this year then one per year thereafter
Hmmm. . . I never bought the Bangla Desh concert on CD or DVD, so I might buy a boxset of that one. Having both shows would be interesting. I'll probably just stream the One Hand Clapping release. I would be far more excited for a cleaned up DVD of the video.
As you know I don’t really do Macca after Tug of War but I was just about to pull the trigger on the 1 2 and 3 box set when your vid came out, 1974 stuff more like it for me. And what I thought might be an inexpensive year is going to quickly become a distant memory.
The Harrison Camp is far behind of Lennon and McCartney. To me it seems they are not putting much effort in George's work. This year would have been a great one to do a proper remix of Dark Horse plus the underrated Live Tour.
I agree this year is the 50th anniversary of dark Horse and the Tour. However it seems like things are starting to move again now in the Harrison camp. One of the main problems is Dhani is curating the reissue programme but he also has his own musical career to work on
I wonder why Paul is ignorin the fans wanting London Town and Back To The Egg box sets? If its a money thing they are worried about then how about just released those two albums in book form like they did with Band On The Run, McCartney 1 and 2. At least we would get all of the bonus audio remastered and cleaned up!
I dont why these two albums keep getting pushed back when the remastering was done back in 2019. However i doubt paul himself makes these decisions-this has got marketing all over it Trevor
Hi tone I must admit it's the first time I've heard of this?... one hand clapping.. Will it be available in record shops or is it just available on mccartney,s website. I hope to get the vinyl version .the reason being more tracks on it, I will also looking out for George's stuff as well. by the way this record store day is it a American thing only, or is it happening in England as well, I love to get lennons ep as well b. F. N. Charles.
Hi Charles, Record Store Day is in England as well this coming Saturday 20th April. I dont know for sure, but from what I understand One Hand Clapping wont be available in record stores just available to by online possibly exclusively from Paul's website
Hello there, my friend how are you doing with all that is coming out :). I do think it is great about the Paul one coming out. I have had it for years on DVD. And I do think it is great, but I do think Paul will come out with the DVD later:). I know there is a copy in BOTR box set. But wow I do hope they clean it up a lot lol!!! Pity about the cover wow I think it could have been done better... But that is just me mate :). And for Paul NO Colored Vinyl lol what is this !!!!!!! And for George I am hopping .... LOL to get the George ones for RSD. I hope you will see my video on it all and what I get!!! Are you going to try and find the RSD George? + The other one of George dose sound great:). A lot coming out with it all mate. So, I do think the Rutles did say it best.... All you need is Cash :). Have a Great weekend too see you sooooon :)!!!!!
Hi Brad not just you i think the cover is rubbish too. Yes the video could do with a clean up. Someone on here said that what we got in BotR 25th wasnt even the master but taken from a bootleg! Not sure it that is right. Im not able to participate in RSD this year but hoping to get the john eps somehow. Have fun with RSD and good luck. I will certainly be watching your video
Hi glad it is not just me on the cover lol. I am sure win this dose come out. The bootleggers will do a much better cover lol:)!!! All the best to you:).
I don't trust anything that is said from the Harrison camp. Lots of hype has always been made about how great the new mixes are and how they sound night and day. When we buy the actual new mixes, they actually don't sound much different from what is already released. Don't fix it if it's not broke. Also, the Harrison camp never provides good value for the money. I'll pass on this, too.
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel Listen to the remaster with the color photo cover, I think it called the 25 anniversary. After a comparison, tell me which sounds punchier and clearer? There is even a quote from GH himself saying that ATMP could really not be improved upon due to all of the tracks recorded with the huge reverb that affected that album. Once you record with effects as opposed to adding them in then remix, you cannot remove them.
@@thechuckster6838 I think the one you mean is the 20th Anniversary edition that came out in 2000. I find that an improvement on 1970 but very 'top heavy' ie trebley. What GH said 20 years before Paul Hicks' remix is not really valid - technology has moved on tremendously since then and nobody can say what George would have thought of the remix. There are a couple of tracks that dont sound that great on the remix but in the main it should be the go to version for everyone. George's voice is up front and not buried like inspectors version, the instrument separation etc etc I could go on but probably wont
Well it wont be down to him, it will be the marketing team that decide these sort of things but its quite a surprise if they are not on there because there is plenty of room on the CDs for them
I was wondering whether McCartney should have waited and recruited a drummer for the band on the run album as I think the tracks on the one hand clapping version of jet on archive collection sound a bit more punchy and energetic .
They do nd I think Geoff Britton is a much better drummer than he is given credit for . I guess there probably wasnt time to audition and recruit a drummer and for him to learn the songs . He could have used Ginger Baker who was in Lagos with the McCartney's around that time
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel I agree . Was it personality thing as I remember that Britton was a health nut and wasn’t a pot head. Also I think I read there was tension between him and Jimmy and because of the importance of jimmy he was replaced
The Cd package was disappointing ( it inspired me to start this channel and my first video was about it) but the 8 LP set was good with hard back book. The remix was fab
Hi Tone (again) what is going on. We've waited for months. Now it's all coming at once. Think i need a word with my Bank Manager. We desperately need more Archive Box Sets. Next from the John Lennon side ?
Hi Graham thanks for the email. I know it's all gone a bit crazy lately. Next Lennon will be Mind Games Ultimate mixes in July or did you mean after that?
Unfortunately if the cd 💿 package does not have the 7 tracks that are included with the vinyl package then I would not purchase it Unfortunately. I mean wats the point of paying for something that is incomplete 🤷 🤔, which is exactly what u will be doing if u buy the cd deluxe set.... missing 7 tracks. I am hopeful that this is incorrect, as it doesn't make sense from any angle....
Hilarious. I am old enough to remember when Vinyl was "Dead" and CD's were the new kids on the town. The way they pushed people to buy CDs over Cassettes or Vinyl if you could find it were "Extra Tracks" which pissed me off but good not having or being able to afford a CD player. So of COURSE now Paul has to come full circle and let the Vinyl have more tracks and short changing the CD buying public. But he forgets that all of his albums post Flowers in the Dirt are neither easy or cheap to find on Vinyl. So some of us have a larger collection of his material on CD than Vinyl. So cheers Paul. You just keep screwing up the people who actually WANT to listen to your work in ONE SINGLE FORMAT. As for the Archive Collection. I find it amazing that there is a PM set out there called the Paul McCartney Collection that goes from McCartney all the way up to Flower in The Dirt with no missing pieces, But he wont just put out the missing Archive Albums the same way. We get it, he isn't happy with London Town, Back to the Egg, Press to Play, and Broadstreet(Or Off the Ground or the Russian Album or Run Devil Run or Driving Rain) Its revisionist history. One Hand Clapping represents the birth of Wings. So yeah now he wants that story out there. I am sure another Remastered 4k version of Rock Show is coming and a 50th anniversary Underdubed Venus and Mars along with a Half Speed Master of it. How about a 40th anniversary 4k Broadstreet this year with the Soundtrack album given the Archive treatment?! A 20th Chaos and Creation Archive next year?!?! No? Sorry Beatly. I think Paul has hit the point now where retreading the same waters over and over is his gameplan. Watch for the 60th anniversary Sgt Peppers Underdubed and re re REMASTERED box set to come out in 2027. Me? I'd rather hear the unreleased "Return to Pepperland" album and get the holes in archive filled.
I am also old enough to remember the birth of CD and the temptation of buying something that you already owned again because of the extra tracks. I made a video on this last year. But can we get one thing straight, you seem to be blaming Paul for all these decisions. Decisions on which format carries which tracks is made by the marketing team not the artist . I also dont buy that London Town and Back to the Egg are being held back by Paul because they are weak - firstly the remastering of these was done in 2019 so they were in the pipeline then, but also much weaker albums than these have got the archive treatment already , pipes of Peace and mcCartney II to name a couple. That isnt the reason why these have been held back . I think the reason is more to with the marketing team using 50th anniversaries as an excuse to put out product. Also Run Devil Run , Chaos and Creation and Driving Rain will never get an Archive release because they were recorded after Linda's death. The archive series has always been a joint venture between the music and Linda's photos so Flaming pie is chronologically the last in the series . Im not sure what history is being revised with OHC, its coming out because it's a bloody good set of recordings
It appears the song "Suicide" has been left off, due to I'm guessing P.C./ "woke" reasons. I'll miss it, but it's not that big of a deal. I'm looking forward to this. I'm okay with the CD edition not having the backyard segment.
Tone didn't this... one hand clapping... come out on a band on the run 2 disc special one being a dvd a few years back..? Mind you are mentioning twice as many tracks as the dvd, the vinyl still seems a good buy, I hope I don't miss out on a copy.
Why not just put the whole damn thing out even if it means replicating material that has already been released on the Archive Collection. There should be a nice book as well. Don't want much do I.😂
i hope living in the material world does not sound like a demo version as we had with all things must pass a thew years ago as for one hand clapping we have got most of it on the band on run 2cd dvd back in 2010 as for the concert for bangla desh we had the cd dvd back in 2005 how can they inprove on that as i see it bit of a anit climax
I cant believe you think the ATMP remix sounds like a demo. It is an amazing remix that improves on the original 10 fold. The BOTR archive SDE has the (incomplete) VIDEO of One Hand Clapping . This release is audio and complete. this has not been available before
This is a pod cast not a YT video. Stop waving your hands about. This is just the beginning of the endless, endless re hashing. But its nothing compared to re-issuing of AI enhanced golden eggs due to hit us sometime soon, Treasure the original versions of all Beatles songs. They are the classics. The rest is just money.
Ladies and gents.... Another money grab here. I have all of those tracks in pristine quality. The sound is good, the performances are not that great. I'll pass on this, thank you very much.
I think the paul mccartney archive collection maybe dead cause its been a real long time since we had the last one. I wonder if we'll get a half speed master of Venus & Mars this year, maybe for black friday RSD?
Yes maybe dead although if it is, I dont understand why they were promoting in the Got Back tour programme saying 'watch out for new archive editions coming soon'. This was only in December 2023. The Half Speed Master series seems to be triggered by 50th anniversaries so I think we ill get Venus and mars next year
