earmarks have been around forever. What's just as bad as the earmarks is when a bill doesn't pass and the other side points to only one part of it and then they claim "they don't care about ...". It's gross.

At this time in history more than ever we need a president that will veto any and all bills that have even one earmark. I should add: Also veto any and all bills over 100 pages in length.

I’ll never forget President Reagan’s State of the Union address when he plopped a HUGE volume of pages on the podium and went through a similar exercise such as Sen. Paul just did, and said “This has to end!” No one can read that much in a short period of time and have any clear idea of what they’re voting for. As I recall, Reagan got things chopped down to size and made a huge impact on government spending.

If they AND their staff don't have time to read this stuff, it should be sent to the shredders. Maybe these goblins in ties and pantsuits can figure out a suitable page count, but if they can't read it, it shouldn't be legal to pass it.
