i've been experimenting with the idea of a more mobile shield-wielding determined build for open world farming, invaded missions and control point farming as well. right now i am playing with memento/3-pc zwiadowka with eagle's grasp/punch drunk/fox's prayer/gunner specialization with a few armor cores and it is working quite well. i can start with one-shotting a red, two shotting a purple with the 1886 or one-shotting a purple using the nemesis and then switching over to the 1886 and getting a headshot kill on a purple. the decoy helps with this. from then on determined takes over and one-shots everything non-named. i will be awaiting your showcase video on your techtank build then. but what do you think about swapping out the contractor's gloves with the eagle's grasp? you will be losing some dmg, but gaining a lot more weapon handling which to me has been a massive improvement to the 1886 reload while still enabling the same target prioritization mechanics in a single player scaling setting. previously i was using the chainkiller and i sacrificed that for a headhunter zwiadowka chestpiece instead.

i have ended up now also making a memento variant of a similar setup i had in the video, with zwia HH chest and eagle named zwia gloves, picaros and a brazos mask, fox and memento and tech spec. all red with only the picaros that cant be redcores, with headshot first and wephandling where possible, somewhat similar to what you have there. mostly going for a decently strong 5 tier shield and then also a 3 tier artificer heals that are above 50% with the memento filled up, turns out with a decent graded 1886 with determined, it can just about reach the point of 1shot on a red to start with. i think i will make it a combined showcase on both the versions,with both the memento and the ninjabag in one, as both have their pros and cons. and i left it out of the video there, but i did play around with the eagle gloves instead of contractors on the ninjabag version, and it does work out fine aswell, giving up contractors 8 dta for an extra 30 wephandling is a pretty decent deal, and with the showcase i will go with both in that slot likely. overall i have been considering the eagle in any build that has contractors anyway, in either high end reds, but also the high end headhunters, it is a pretty good swap overall.

@@ikia i tried your double brazos double zwiadowka with memento build and it packs a punch! but the 3rd piece zwiadowka and 3rd piece brazos bonuses look so enticing, especially for the 1886 which could do with more weapon handling and also more rounds in the magazine. but i am guessing to reach for either will mean giving up too much, and that goes for reaching with both using the ninjabike backpack as well. already i am having to deal with forgoing the 20 headshot damage by jettisoning the punch drunk. decisions, decisions, on rifle builds that are still really weak in comparison to other options hah.

It's a shame tbh the gear kinda falls short for me and the choices for it seem very limited. Wish they'd given it more utility or even a group buff .

It just needed to have the buff roll, take off mmrs, and refactoring the 2p/3p bonuses for crits and it would have been great. Otherwise a port of sentrys call was what I was hoping for, but... meh.

to me it is weird that in the end they just gave it a dmg bump from 2AWD per stack to 4, as even on pts dmg of the talent wasn't really its issue, it was much more the uptime of the talent, guess they didn't want to revamp it all the way so they ended upping the numbers and just calling it a day.

1886 is basically the only rifle that has high enough base damage for this to work as a HH setup

@@RB92. I understand that the 1886 is the only one that can *chainkill* with HH, doesn't mean that we can't still try some other builds out or at least talk about them. If you're two or three shotting with a Classic M1A, that next bullet with a HH stack might do more on average than running Focus or something like Spotter etc and still might be the best build for that.

​@RB92. Not quite accurate but it's for sure the most flexible (in terms of cores and overall build) but comes with the reload liability, no scope, and relatively poor handling. That said it works very well in CQB with or without a shield especially with memento. But in that case, I'd probably also use HF as the base set like I always have been doing vs using some Frankenstein BP and Zoo build. Dispatch- During reanimated etc you can see where greatness can lie in terms of quick target acquisition and deletion vs bolt action mmrs or an in-between like the 1886 and its puny, annoying tube magazine. The SVD is the other way to go- similar base damage to m1a classic, higher buffs to base WD vs Rifles, also no dropped ADS on reacquire, ok mag, and tons of HSD for headhunter. But crap handling and small ammo pool. Too bad G28 and Mk20 are non-starters in semi-auto MMR category, they would have been excellent fits otherwise but the handling on them is so bad it's hilariously unusable.

as said it is mostly for that the 1886 has the higher base, but also for this set, the standout weapon for me to use on it isnt just 1886 but specifically the diamondsback, it is what makes me in any way want to run this setup over anything else. for example i did try it out with a c-m1a grade 20 with determined, it will be just below a oneshot on a red, you can two shot it from there, but even with 20 grading it did not have enough to go to a purple on the second shot, with 25 it might just about reach, and it caps around 11 mill which end up not enough for a lmg elite, so it ends up lacklustre, you could likely push it past those goalposts with ranger, but a 1886 can do it with determined. and the thing is in the end, you dont really deal with the worst of the 1886/diamondback which is its reload, you just weaponswap and back and take a multi seconds long reload to under a second. the only real downside is the optimal range that is 28m, but at longer ranges i would divert to hotshot anyway.

hotshot has spoilt us. After using the buffed tac 308 at GR20 the rifle builds now seems so weak in comparison.
