The ‘village’ was a heavily FORTIFIED (defence) postion, cover, trenches, bunkers, barbed wire, you get the idea.. It makes no difference if it was a village, town or bus stop benches, the point is the strategic position was taken. No village is particularly important unless it is a strategic stronghold. Villages are rebullt by Russians in weeks. Look at Mariupol.

@@quemades If you think that Robotyne has any true military strategic value, you gotta think again. It was the last remembrance of the glorious counter offensive. That's the only reason they held onto it for so long and quite literally wasted lives of their soldiers to maintain it.

Ukraine evacuates them to take the men. And also because when they dont. They civilians give the positions to the russians. Russia rebuilds these towns and villages and gives the former residents a new house to live in again.
