My guess for why Grim jumped of the edge is that units all have a target, but when you get hit by Cupid you target your ally, but if there is no ally then it sets their target to off the side of the map somewhere.

A potion seller can kill when the target reaches a certain level of intoxication. The amount required depends on the max hp of the targeted unit and you can tell how close they are to dying by now green they are.

Units, if they are hit with Cupid's arrow and there are no other units, it will continue in the direction it was walking in. That means Cupid could beat the Ice Giant in a 1v1.
