Since you can't fight Gaul with breath abilities, you won't be able to perform fury attacks. With cheats enabled, some weird things happen when you defeat Gaul with fury attacks in the first phase of the battle. It appears that when you normally finish the first phase of the battle, the second phase will load instantly, and a cutscene will start playing. Here, the cutscene won't play until the animations for the fury attacks are done, which allows you to see the second phase load. When using dark Spyro's fury attack in the first phase, the second phase is skipped.
