Technically, a car going above the speed of sound would have the lowest engine noise levels at 0 dB, as the engine sound would be too slow to catch up to you.
Snootpower Yes you are dont you deny it. Nowhere in the title it says its a challenge. It literally says he breaks the 1000mph record, which could have been done in a 2 min video
Thinking about it, it would be very difficult to record a vehicle at those speeds. Automatic cameras don't register past a certain speed and for the handhelds - I'd challenge anyone to get a lock on a vehicle travelling one and a half times the speed of sound in any direction. Anyway, I think if I was the cop I'd be saying "can I borrow that car for the rush hour".
Awesome vid, Wipper !!! VERY entertaining ... and that's what it about ;) Love it :) LOVE IT when the Nitro kicks in, hahaha !!! At 7:59 when Michael says " S**T ", hahahaha, EVEN the " in game " charecter knows s**t's gonna go down !!! HAHAHAHA !!!! Awesome ... and ... SO COOL the Sonic Boom happened !!! It's COOL when you come outta Franklin's ability !!! GREAT VID !!! :)
Amazing video! You're so inspirational, and funny. :DD I have an idea, I would love to see what this speed looks like on a bmx! The characters legs would be insane :)
"The speed of sound is not a constant, but depends on altitude (or actually the temperature at that altitude). A plane flying Mach 1.0 at sea level is flying about 1225 km/h (661 Knots, 761 mph), a plane flying Mach 1.0 at 30000 ft is flying 1091 km/h (589 knots, 678 mph) etc."
In addition, groundspeed and airspeed are two different things. At 32,000ft in a Boeing 737-800, your dials and computer may state "Mach 0.72" (Or M .72) and the airspeed readout may actually be 300 knots (345mph), but the groundspeed readout will be different - it should show around 480 knots or 550mph, and the lower your aircraft's altitude, the closer both values (airspeed and groundspeed) will be. A plane at high altitude flying at Mach 1 is still doing the same ground speed as a plane flying at low altitude, at Mach 1. Blame the pitot tube.
THAT LANDING WAS SAVAGE AND AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
