The rules were so on point especially the Silicone for the hair. For me the one about clipping your hair ends often I only trim my ends when my hair needs it.

😊 It is so true to see what individually works. My hair thrives when I do a very light trim more often - every 2 months - this has truly helped me retain length. I have high porosity hair that used to get fairy knots and now I don't have that issue.

thankyou! finally someone admits that heat isn’t all that bad! i’ve been stretching my hair every other week with cool / warm air, silicone heat protectant & i have retained over 5 inches in length in one year! i flatiron and trim about 3-4 times a year and my flat iron never goes over 350degrees. my hair grows pretty fast but that’s the most i’ve ever been able to retain in a year due to ssk and breakage when i wear my curly hair. next up is tailbone length (3 inches away!! 💕)

I clarify my hair during every wash day (every two weeks). ORS Creamy Aloe moisturizing clarifying shampoo clarifies my hair but leaves it moisturized and this product has a lot of slip which helps with detangling.

I agree with everything you have to say. I love the knowledge you share. I love my silicones, my grease, my shampoo and conditioners. I don't get me a wrong I am a true naturalist. I love my henna, fenugreek, amla and many others and the only time I use a co wash is when I do a full henna mask to cover a few grays hairs I have around my temple.

I have found a good formulated Co Wash that my hair loves … my best advice is LISTEN to YOUR Hair. I do my research and read labels and will order from a small company than what I have to choose from off the shelf. These are the rules I follow… because my hair is what I listen to because there are too many out here just loose on the keys and do not know my hair. No heat, no sulfates, no silicones works for my hair. I do listen to the info you give and I use what’s work for my hair. I don’t blow dry or straighten my hair, I use a hooded dryer when I am doing my DC 💙

I will start cowashing in between wash days because of these record hot days in Florida. Tried shampooing more often with very moisturizing fragrance free shampoos due to my allergies but that was too drying for my hair. I have already tried many different surfactants sulfate in many different fragrance free shampoos and they are too drying so I use fragrance free chelating shampoos with more gentle surfactants and that works for me I love oils it’s all about the right oils at the right time. I tried the no oils no butters for 6 months wasn’t for me. My hair thrives with oils.

I technically don't follow the rules. Personally, I don't really know them. As for co-washing, I'm not really doing it properly. But I realize that I should be washing my hair every week, so a co-wash would fit perfectly into my regimen.

Everytime I use sulfate shampoos my would break off because of dryness. Ever since switching to products without sulfate my hair been retaining lenght. They do have sulfate free clarifying shampoo and it work just as good as sulfate shampoos. Black people hair is naturally dry. Why do you think black own products don't use sulfates. People think it's the heat thats causing breakage but truth is its the sulfates. Sulfates can damage african hair. That's why it's best to use products that's made for your hair type. All this time I thought I was high porosity but soon as I switch to sulfate free my hair went to low porosity. Reason how I know that because my hair took forever to dry. When I use sulfate shampoo my hair would dry quickly.

hey love your videos! as a cosmetic chemist, can you talk about the 30 day detox made by Black Girl Curls? I'm curious about your opinion based on your scientific background. I haven't really seen you go in depth as to why you may not agree with their logic apart from describing the benefits of oils, mostly as a 'hear say' opposition. But instead of mentioning oils and butters and their benefits based on the hear say or in passing, are you able to talk at length of your critique or thought process based on your professional background with the concept of the 30 day hair detox and 'Wash Your Damn Hair' made by them instead of just oils and butters as a topic? Hope you do, thanks in advance! :)

@pragooutube

I've been using it as a spray rather than a rinse. I guess I'll be a guinea pig to see if there are any bad side effects to leaving it in your hair, and using it daily. Almost every night I spritz my exposed scalp and especially the front sides/ edges of my head, then slather some leave in on top, then tie down with a silk scarf. Been doing it for 2 weeks so far, no negative side effects discernible as yet, my scalp is looking less 'scalpy', less bald. May be too soon to tell for sure, but I think my hair is filling in nicely where I was starting to get receding (because of keeping basically the same parts and using a bit too much tension.)

I read that sweet almond oil and Shea Butter are good heat protectants. What's your take on it? Thank you beautiful and intelligent sistah. You and your family always stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐🕊️. My main problem with my hair is...dry ends. No matter what I do they're just dry. Should I cut them?

Cutting them may help you start over, I had to do that before and now they’re a lot better! Sweet almond and Shea are okay as heat protectants, but I still think silicones are better.

Check your health. Hair growth starts with proper eating & nutrition. Are you vitamin/mineral deficient? Iron, vitamin D, potassium, & B vitamins are big ones - meaning if you’re deficient in any of those, the hair will have obvious issues.
