Breaking the Stigma - A short film about mental health 

I’ve been suffering with depression for the last few weeks I have a therapist that I talk to once a week on the phone and I called the crisis line last week it’s a roller coaster it’s up and down I want it to go away

This video feels like a comfort to me as I have suffered with mental health for ten years this November and it’s lovely to know that I’m not alone well done to everyone who took part in making it

I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my RU-vid channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

The media and politicians in India are only concerned with issues which has vote related consequences. Psychiatry patients are not vote banks. Whether they are killed commit suicide makes no difference to anyone. But if a 100 year old demented case dies then it's a hornets nest issue.

I am suffering of a mental desease and do be go to a psychiatric clinic and day hospital and be following by my psychiatrist and psychologist. I can never work again as emergency doctor. I receive a pension of the state (France, I’am french) and considered as disabled by te psychiatrist doctors. I would never imagined that in my life of medical student then as doctor. My feeling is that I ve failed and that my life is a failure. I’am feeling guilty toward my family, with three children. My wife got a second cancer and I would like to help all of them. When I meet someone or somes friends, I say I’m a doctor the they ask me where...I lie, I don’t say the true, It ‘hard to say that I have a mental desease and that I ve to go the psychiatric clinic. Then they say that I’am rich. I was relatively easy and confortable but now I’m poor and can’t help my wife and children. Two weeks ago with the other patient we have make a spectacle of dance in the theatre of the small city where I live in France. It’s stupid but I was anxious to be recognized by someone I know. Nowadays, It was the International Week of mental Well-being. The symbole it’s the green ribbon. In fact the spectator, a lot of spectators were enthusiasts with our performances. It was a moment of pleasure during a time when I forget all blacks thinks about me. I’ve shared this pleasure with my friends, who have each other a mental desease, but I don’t want to know, they are my friends. That’s is very important.

Sure wish you would have used a darker marker for the words on the cards. The messages would have been much easier to read. Simple thing, but too many people have no training in communication.

stop blaming all crime on the mentally ill patients the stigma is worse enough as it is.Just I'm partially mentally ill and I don't have a felony on my record. we aren't crooks nor criminals we are simply the forgotten of society.

Talking to someone about mental health or if people come to know about it invites more trouble and stigmatization in India. They kick you out of your house, out of your job, relationships. Even the ministers are deaf dumb and mute. No use. My xperience in India. Planning to go to Switzerland for assisted dying.

That last one “it’s OK to not be OK” well that’s actually false… because work environments will crucify you once they have completed their tick box of measures that they have offered you… then they will just shit on you… from someone who has MH issues and been patronised with some ignorant and unqualified HR allocated MH person and then sacked… and looking like it will happen again… when what help I need is proper treatment by a professional with resources.

Most of my students are young, white men and they are not represented in this film. It feels like it is reinforcing the stereotype of womens problems.

I support this because it’s not just over privileged white people that feel unhappy and want drugs . Rarely does this cover say OCD and psychosis
