In my opinion, this is one of the best channels about chess on RU-vid. Very instructive explanations delivered in a clear and concise way, down to earth personality, and no music in the background! Kudos!
Post Malone - "I think it's time for a bud light break" Daniel Naroditsky - "I think it's time for a pawn break" Choose your role models carefully or you might end up 800 ELO
The magic in the way Danya can teach and explain these openings, the ideas, concepts and tactics is like being blind and hearing color described to you and actually seeing it in your mind. The more I learn and understand about chess the more beautiful it becomes to me, and it's amazing how he can paint it so clearly
man this content is 1000x more benefit than those paid courses, just understand the logic and the process of thinking of a position and u will improve sooo much, and as hikaru said, openings doesnt matter below 2300 level, just understand the game and chances will provide itself.
always love your vids. I could handle a longer game even, maybe a one off classical game or something so we could hear all your thought process finding the best move.
Interesting thing I found with the engine: at 26:29 instead Be2 lichess engine (depth 25) suggests Bg5 sacking a pawn, but says it´s completly winning +1.5
I'm around 2200 in blitz online and I play the Jobava London quite frequently with white. Big ups to you "Sensei Danya" 👍. I was going through a very similar thought process during your game while you ended up making one of my potential 2300+ online daily chess blitz bullies resign in only 27 moves, almost a "miniature" but sure the hell didn't play out like one!! I learned a lot as well it confirmed a lot in between my ears!!
Oh man, this is the first time I've decided to run analysis WHILE watching the game itself. That was absolutely fascinating and is helping me understand some things I otherwise wouldn't. And, at the risk of stating the obvious...when Daniel says "He has a hunch something is a good move", even if he doesn't choose it, it's almost always top 3 computer move. His hunches are shockingly strong even when he doesn't calculate, his experience is just that great. And every time the opponent made a bad mistake, he instantly knew it (Albeit, he also noted a few moves as dodgy that were top computer moves, but that does make sense. Especially since following the analysis during the game drives home how obvious actual cheating can be. Because good lord will you randomly see moves and think to yourself "Not only would I not see that in a million years, I wouldn't even play that unless I somehow saw it perfectly because it looks like a CRAZY person move". It's clearer and clearer why GMs can spot cheaters with very little effort when some moves just intuitively look absurd.
Also, the only thing that hurt that Daniel didn't do in this game was the computer was SCREAMING for Qh4 early and often and he never played it. It was such a strong move the computer sacrificed other pieces multiple times (!) just to get it in. It really, really wanted that move, and while Daniel mentioned it as a possibility he never really explored or calculated out the move, which shows how easy it is to simply gloss over strong moves when you are not wanting to calculate everything.
I dont understand why some players, like in this video, make moves in a couple of seconds that blunder the game with twice as many time as their opponent. I found when I started playing online that most players care more about moving fast than making good moves
Hey, appreciate this is quite old now but how comes you played Bd3 on move 5 instead of the move you recommend in your course here? I’ve been getting some pretty rough positions with the course move so thinking about swapping it out for g4 or something else like Bd3
These speed runs are some of the best and most informative chess content that I watch. It helps to hear a really good chess player talk their way through a game. It REALLY REALLY helps. Thanks!
The speedrun has helped me improve so much! I had my first serious classsical game today, and thanks to these postional lessons I played an (almost) perfect game! Thank you, Sensei Danya!
can anyone please tell me how to set costom time-control. I wanna play with a friend but he's 1400, I'm 600. and I don't learn much from removing pises. tank you in advansed.
A brilliant game, you make winning look easy. Thank you for all the work you put into the speedrun, your analysis makes every single move understandable.
"Unbelievable, we happen to have come across an 800 playing his first ever game of chess, this will be an incredibly hard challenge, we'd better be on our A-game to even hope for a draw!"
Is it possible that they invented Duck Chess because of the expression "this pawn is a sitting duck"? Not a native English Speaker, don't even know if Danya invented the expression or if it was already a thing, now it takes a whole new dimension!
It is so impressive how much information Danya can put into one video! Even with all the references to other games. At the same time being fun, eloquent and well-structured. Simply amazing. Thank you!
When I want to study an opening for the first time, I watch Levy. When I want to use it to its full tactical potential, this is the channel for that. Thank you for all your content man!
Wirklich, wirklich gutes Video. Ich habe schon viele Schachvideos gesehen, und dieses liefert tiefgründige Einblicke in deine Entscheidungsprozesse. Wunderbar!
Now that's the real meat. Great game. I typically would have lost the thread after black when for a typical surprising defense with ..f5 (not very good but not a mistake) and countered with ..e5. But Sensei showed the way!
Best chess content out there. I'm really new to chess and it's been frustrating trying to pick which openings to learn but through your recommendations and the sheer depth you go into I've been able to climb over 200 elo already.
So many interesting concepts and ideas in this video! I will maybe make one notebook in which I will post pictures or sketches of various ideas just like he recommended in one of his earlier videos.
@32:26 white can check first before having to take back and not loose queen then take back with pawn and if queen or rook take you're still fine to bring rook from f1 to e1
Well it turns out that it was not carlsen pranking you.....but you can prank levy in his how to win at chess series or hikaru in his botez gambit series
