Why did this shit go so hard

I usually watch these kind of videos in regards to self improvement, so I was pretty surprised that you guys made a video in this format. It's really good, and not just in regards to Smash. I can actually appreciate the metaphor you used of having to climb down an old mountain first.

Thank you. this is literally why I made this video, I want to help with players mentalities.

For example let's say you have a bad roll in habit, you do ok in smash but decide to stop the roll habit, you immediately start losing but in the long run this helps your overall path to becoming better even if you get worse in the short run

Right even if you lose the match atleast you will know it’s not because they punished my your roll in for the third time that match.

I keep coming back to this video even after I've stopped trying to improve my game in Smash. it's just so profound and the applications of this Monday extend outside of Smash but to the greater game of life too. This content is its own plateau!

Ive hit so many plateaus in smash that i cant even remember them all. Over time though, its something ive grown to appreciate. Its what makes competition so much harder than most other things in life. Most people choose to avoid looking at their flaws or feel its too hard to change, But to get better in competition, you will be faced with your flaws and failure all the time. You must see yourself clearly, in order to play well, and you must be able to spot flaws in an instant, to be able to spot your opponents flaws. Its complex and i dont think anything else really feels like it, which is why i continue, because i enjoy the challenge of it.

First 😳. On a serious note, the best way I’ve found to break through a plateau is to step away, try something different that challenges me in other ways. It helps give me “fresh eyes” coming back and can help trigger thoughts/ideas I couldn’t see before.
@fna5360
@fna5360 2 года назад
Yeah agreed but it makes you wonder if it's possible to get that same refresh by being aware of the mental hurdles that stop yourself from being more open minded. I tend to tunnel intensely into what I believe I "should" be doing and that should gets more and more narrow/closed minded but I'm not entirely sure if there's something that I am doing, that I can become aware of, that's causing it. Good luck conquering your mental blockades homie

@@fna5360 First thanks for the positive comment. We all should strive to uplift each other to be better players, which will in the end help all of us reach the next level. Having communities for healthy discussion and empowering another is vital. Thanks man! People are all different, and of course as a result some will progress at a different pace than others. That’s totally cool and fine. Look at the insane adaption of MKLeo and how he can continue to climb even though he may get smacked down a few times. Of course not everyone is able to catch their bad habits or see all their options and mistakes off rip. Sometimes frustration, stress, and tiredness just get us to a point of diminishing returns. For those who feel at that point, I’d recommend stepping away and realizing it’s okay to do so. Sometimes you have to do so in order to look at a situation from the outside with a clear perspective and outlook. Tweek has done this several times and came back a bigger monster every time with a different approach than he had before. Give yourself rest, seek different challenges to stimulate your mind, and surround yourself with those who uplift and help you point out a problem and solution from a different viewpoint. Most important, always be a student and willing to listen and grow(this is true with life in general).

I’ve hit many of these and the feeling of being able to trust yourself to push through and learn as much as you can is unmatched. Working hard into eventually overcoming the block you had is an awesome process that the higher you go, the more it will be repeated. To this day I’m still improving but the journey is a great time. This is really good content, keep it up!

As long as you continue learning it you will get better. You might have to lose a lot sometimes for hundreds of hours until you master what you've been learning. But you do eventually get better. To me this is the best part of competitive gaming. When you finally start winning more after hundreds of hours of practice. When you start seeing lines of play you couldn't see before. That feelings amazing.

Great video providing an outlook on a concept that many may seem to think is incorrect or not aware of entirely. The sooner you realize that achieving your goals requires multiple examples of sacrifice including egos, pride etc. the sooner you will be able to find the paths to improvement.

Not what I was expecting. But actually good advice. The analogy of having to climb down in order to climb a taller mountain makes a lot of sense to me. So thanks? This feels weird on a smash channal lmao. But fr thanks.

I got to my hero “plateau” and switched to Terry. That made my hero better and now I’m switching to sheik to be better with Terry. This is so I learn my fundies and not rely on the character’s cheese factor. That has been my biggest plateau to achieve, cause my fundies suck!

These videos did not help at all. Being stuck on a skill plateau is a state where you are not able to help yourself which is why coaches and mentors are so important. Being stuck for years now to the point where I dropped my main char.

never thought about it in that way. I asked because sometimes ppl simply wont due to time or they are afraid to, regardless of being motivated.
