I have been trying so hard to figure out the difference between the Ameda Mya and the Ameda Mya Joy because they basically look the same and have lots of the same features so THANK YOU!
I love my Lansinoh 2.0 So far its the most comfortable for me. I recently got the Ameda Mya Joy and i'm having such a hard time making it work for me. I feel alot of suction on one side and barely anything on the other.
O interesting! I agree the Lansinoh is comfortable. I bet if you call the Ameda customer service they would try to help you. I called once and they were helpful.
Trying to decide between the Smartpump 2.0 and the Mya Joy (those are the two options my insurance says they will cover). Will be working 4-5 days a week in the office when I come back from maternity leave. I'm very tempted by the portability of the Mya Joy. Which one is easier to clean?
Do you find that the Ameda Mya Joy has enough power to pump both breasts at the same time? Even when operating with battery power? I am trying to decide between the Medela Pump in Style Advanced, Lansinoh Signature Pro, and Ameda Mya Joy. Your video was so helpful and I leaning towards the Ameda Mya Joy!
Yes, it does for me! I think everyone's body is different though. I respond pretty well to mid level suction. It seems like you can always turn it up if you need more suction though. I usually use it at a 4 or 5 when its plugged in and a 5 or 6 when its on batteries. It goes all the way up to 10.
Thank you for your help! You cannot imagine how much this has helped me make a decision! First time mom and everyone was saying get the Medela because that’s what EVERYONE gets but I just couldn’t resist the small size of the Ameda and needed assurance that it actually works! THANK YOU!!!!
If you aren't worried about portability, I'd go with the Lansinoh. It empties me the fastest and is really easy to use and clean. The ameda is a great option if you're looking for something portable. I don't have experience with the Madela so I'm not sure about that one. :-)
Are the bottles the same size on both breast pumps??? I need a suction holder for my bottles and I have the ameda mya but they don’t have them for it 😩
Hi love. I have to use the Ameda bottles with the Ameda pump and the Lansinoh bottles with the Lansinoh pump. My baby took Lansinoh bottles so that was a plus of the Lansinoh pump for me. Didn't have to transfer the milk to a different bottle!
I've used mine on the same batteries at least 10 times and they're still going strong! Not sure when they will wear out since I'm an infrequent pumper.
Would you happen to know if the Ameda Mya Joy pump is “hackable”/compatible with the Freemie cups???? I’m currently looking into getting this pump but won’t to be completely portable & plan on a battery pack along with the Freemie cups.
Wondering if u can use either amends myas for building milk production? They say “hospital grade” but I noticed you mentioned it was good because you weren’t worried about building a stash.. do you find it strong enough? I’m specifically needing a portable strong pump and was hoping this was my answer..
Yes, it's very strong! I generally keep it only the lower levels because that's what's comfortable for me, and I get fine output there. You could deff use it to build a stash. :-)
I have been researching breast pumps as well. And so far what I have found is there is a difference in their suction power. Ameda Mya has 280 mmhg. While Ameda Mya Joy and Lasinoh smart pump they both have 250 mmhg of suction power.
