I go by my own interpretation... Myria/Tyr, is a liar and a demon. Always was. But realized the Brood/Light, would keep her from obtaining dominion over the world. She was thwarted three times before, that's why she devised this plan. To keep anyone or anything more powerful than her from her arrogant control. Death to Myria, Death to Deathevan, and all the incarnations. Lol... yes I take these games way too seriously. Also though... why are the Holy Order of Dragons deemed the Brood? Obviously as something meant to be despised... as opposed to Light, so that we might not see. Even the Dragons begin to believe that they themselves are evil, it's a lie told over and over. Myria is the one who put the Dragons at odds, with "wishes" with lies. Hence Teepo, and Ray, and to some extent... Zog. And when Momo suggests that one day, "We might be able to build our own machines." Myria shakes her head. She can't have that. These stories are about choice and force. And you're always able to choose a good, or a bad ending. That's why I love 'em. That freaked me out a little bit... she calls Ryu "Matt" Lol, well, it's a common name. That aside, consider the desert; it's green and lush on the other side of the world, why? Not because Myria wills it as she says, but because Yggdrasil is on the other side keeping watch. She has rotted the world around her, just as her previous forms, her seeds of evil. And the Dragons who followed after her to the other side of the ocean have forgotten their purpose, or rather, they have lost the faith, they doubt themselves. Which is why Ryu appears to set things straight. Damn I love this game. The goddess is a communist. Better dead than red. I mean, look at her, she's a devil, a serpent with angel wings, and look at her moves! Holocaust? Her belly bursts with wires of control... Myria is the cause of the desert. Change my mind. (The ending, Yggdrasil rises from the desert...)

@@matthewrileymcleanwilkinson Lot of spoilers but here goes. I don't think Myria really is evil in the traditional sense. The people of Caer Xhan had civil wars and caused the place to become a desert. Myria was likely a manmade god that was created for the sole purpose to control the people and to preserve. Her control though was too much to be reasonable to Ryu and his friends. Myria held onto what was left to make life flourish again on the other side. I agree with you the dragons knew they could tear the world apart. If you played BoF 1 the light and dark dragons had opposing views and that was when there was wars between them and that was when there was the most dragons. Of course if you played the other games in the series you will realize they all tie together somehow... The reason why Myria looks like a dragon is because dragons were the original gods, and experiments to create a god required the use of dragon genes so many of the gods have dragon like features. I'm actually pleasantly surprised when the indie game Fear and Hunger seems to follow this same concept that was ingrained in the BoF series. FoH also challenges the idea of what a god really is.
