Does this general rule vary by breed? A Soay sheep with 35 cm testicles would be crazy big!

This will have variations based on breed, however it might not be as big of a difference as you might think. As you can see from our video, the Dorper lamb is 6 months old and around 70 pounds. I would go for the biggest you can get! 😎

We had our herd type classified last fall. Would recommend it to anyone. We learn something every time we do this. Our buck had a testicular circumference of 34.5cm as a two year old. I am pleased that you showed the buckling because we sell our breeding prospect males before 14 months of age and I was wondering about where they should be at when it comes to testicular circumference. It would be nice to have a crystal ball but we don't know how they will turn out in the future!

Thanks! I have read various literature saying the size can fluctuate 2-3cm based on the time of year and hormone variability as well. 👍🏻

Very interesting! I assume if you're having a vet do a motility check, you'd want to time it for when it's not so hot outside.
