Love the grain on the sides. Very nice sounding and I enjoy your playing. I also find your techniques and tools very unique from what I learned growing up working with more traditional techniques and tools. I work on mostly electric guitars these days in Los Angeles. Refrets and all that jazz. Love your vids. Keep them coming.

Sometime down the road ... many years from now, a Pro-Luthier much like yourself, will be grateful for the wood glue ( as opposed to epoxy ) when they go to reset the neck. ;^ ) !

Beautiful work and beautiful demo, sir! I just got myself a Breedlove Eco Rainforest S Concert with the black and gold finish... Just a mid-range guitar but they sound amazing and look incredible, too. But mine needs some neck work as well. Not sure if she warrants this extent of work or not, but if my usual guy can't do it, I know where to send it ;) Cheers!

Hey Brad, 250 watts at a 4" distance for 7 minutes. You might have to do this more than once .... but 7 minutes is the upper limit of time per session. Good Luck \m/ ! MMcC

No dovetail or mortise and tenon, interesting. I have an acoustic body I need to make a neck for that doesn't have a mortise like this one. Any disadvantages to just bolting it but up to the body?

Hi Tyler. Nice to hear from you ! I hope you are OK + Safely navigating the C-19 madness. Robert Godin was the "voice in the wilderness" back in the early 70's with his Norman acoustics. The market just wasn't buying the idea of a bolt-on neck at that time. Since that time ... MANY have relented. Robert Godin "staying the course " with the very popular Seagull brand and Martin / Collings / Breedlove / Taylor and numerous others ... have all followed Robert's lead. It seems that Gibson / Larrivee / Santa Cruz are the last "hold-outs " among the more famous manufacturers. Many small builders ( including myself ) still utilize the traditional dovetail. Martin, in the higher end guitars still do the dovetail ... although they now include a single threaded fastener in the tip of the dovetail like you see in this Gibson SJ restoration ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HKbyA69y1w4.html. The simplification of the neck joint, with these fasteners and a butt-joint .... certainly speeds up the manufacturing process. Hope that helps to shed some light on this issue for you. Very best always. MMcC
