I do Believe there are some people that kept himself, or herself until the day of Marriage. True fact out of all my friends growing up out of everyone I was the only on that was still a Virgin. My body was getting attention for dudes constantly. I was a town boy for a long time before I started to dress girly. I was a Virgin all the way until I was 21. And If I say I was tempted throughout those years I will be lying😂. But I was determined not to lose it. Not to mention God always made a way of escape for me to avoid the inevitable. Then after that I was Celibate for a long time until I finally gotten into a relationship. Eventually that celibate train ended. I felt horrible after the fact. Because I felt I Broke my Vow with God. I let God down deep inside my soul. My relationship lasted about a year and half before it ended. And I was an emotional mess. In my feelings with God. Once a repented, and forgave myself. Because my God already forgave Me❤
If UNLUCKY prevents you from going through drama, heartbreak, liars, cheaters, wasted time, a future strained marriage and divorce...I'd choose to be unlucky until EQUALLY YOKED!!!👏💯📖
Right ! People go from partner to partner accumulating so much trauma with each partner they experience.For 9 years now I have not been in a relationship.I figured it out earlier.I have had several people try to hook me up with men but I turned down all the offers very politely.What I want must fulfil all the requirements else I will prefer to stay alone and be single forever.I am already comfortable being alone.
I was married to a man who did nothing to support me. From not speaking up when mechanics was taking advantage of me to complaining about me asking for his input on anything. He didn't love me and yes you do loose yourself. A lesson learned. That was a relationship God told me not to get in. He always warns us. It's up to us to listen. He cared nothing about me wanting to abstain from sex. Anyone who cannot support your commitment to God is not your person.
I know this feeling. You feel like you're literally sleeping with the enemy and when you realize, it shocks you. Thankful for the lessons learned as I believe i needed healing in certain areas. Glad you got out.
@@TheNaphisa03 it is very important to practice discipline in your singleness. Self control is one of the many discipline for a beleiver. You must master this or you may end up cheating on your spouse.
This is so good… I’m going on 7 years and at one point I found myself being proud about it. God literally humbled me and reminded me that I’m no better than anyone else. While sex is not my sin, I still fall in other areas. So I stopped making my abstinence about ME and made sure I’m doing it for GOD. What we do for God will last 🙏🏾
Definitely back on my abstinence. I recently had a night after almost a year of going strong. Crushed me a bit because I realized that there had to be some open doors and I got lazy on renewing my mind with the word . All the enemy needs is a crack. It’s detrimental for people of God to have slip ups because when the enemy gets a chance he’ll really try to warp you because he can already see that you’re a threat to territory. I too realized on this path to finding myself in God that sometimes God shows us that our motives were off. God is readjusting me and reminding me that it’s not about me and my desires. If we focus on him we will lack nothing 🥰
it's good that you're back on track in your relationship with God, as long as you remain in his presence and pray to break any spiritual ties with that person you were intimate with you will be fineGod loves you no matter what
I love Brenny and Laterras. They look good together. But I hope they both find love in this world. Sometimes it feels like good people can’t find and/or connect with good people.
Definitely resonated with the pride that comes with the celibacy streak. I had to remind myself I am obeying God because I love Him, and not because I want something out of it. The motivation had morphed into something transactional, and it showed me why it seemed difficult at the time. It definitely has become easier with the right mindset. I'm not doing it because I expect a trophy out of it; I'm doing it because I am intimate with my God, and I don't want to lose that intimacy.
Alot of Christians are celebate to gain a spouse. That's what we have heard since we were little. No sex until your married. It's not really taught that abstinence is to draw close to God PERIOD. This is really needed.

Loved the podcast, myself and my fiancee decided to wait till our marriage in September, and it has been such a blessing I am learning so much about myself and about her as well, not only that we have been blessed with a awesome man of God to help us with premarital counseling. I had to take a look at how I was doing things and to be honest that doing my way was not working. I know that God will honor our decision and all lasting success comes from being obedient to doing God's way. Laterras thank you for being so transparent I also watched the show that you did with your guest and it truly touched me, because I was that man. I thank God for his mercy that he loved me enough to bring me this far, and my desire is to be an example to others that God can truly use anyone that is willing to submit their lives to him.I wish you the best in all that you do much love and respect my brother.
I truly appreciate this conversation! ❤️ I fell off my 5 year abstinence journey in March 2022. My original intent was to break free from all the pain of my past and to grow closer to God. When I hit the 4th year, I took the vow of abstinence with Laterras and Pastor Conway Edwards to truly commit my way before God. Things started to really get tough. Yet, I kept pressing forward, but God kept warning me about the pride I held onto about being able to keep myself “pure” when others struggled. It was evident in my conversations that were not always filled with grace. When year 5 hit, a man entered my life who made me feel “seen”. There were so many red flags 🚩 that I saw, addressed them with him, but I did not stop. He opened a door that I did not notice was going to lead to my fall. Although nothing happened with him, my ex creeped right through with promises of “being there for me”. I knew better…but I was lonely and far from sitting in the Word of God (despite faithfully serving in church and “being a good Christian”). And I gave up 5 years of my journey. Sadly, he was the reason I decided to become abstinent in the first place🤦🏽♀️. It was so hard to recover. But God. It did not take long to break the cycle because I made a vow to God, and though I broke my vow to Him, He reused to break His vow to me to keep me (helping me to understand the vows I will one day commit to with my husband requires me to still remain). On 4/1/22, I confessed, repented, and renewed my vow to God to love Him and draw closer to Him so that He can teach me to cherish this temple of the Holy Spirit. Along the way, I walk with people with grace and mercy to remind them of the true abounding grace of God. I walk with them in the truth of living free and with clarity waiting for my purpose partner. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I still believe that God will keep me and my future spouse during the waiting period before our I do. God is worth the wait. My husband is worth the wait. And I am worth the wait. ❤️❤️
So relatable! I hated sex because of my ex. So a few days before my celibacy turns one year, he shows up and I didn't say no. 😐 I think it's mainly out of habit. It's so obvious he was sent by the devil. I've been celibate for more than a year now. And waiting on marriage is really the best thing to do. I'll be getting married soon and my bf also want to wait for marriage. There are times it's hard but you'll know that when your heart wants to follow God, the more temptations the devil sends, but it won't make you happy or satisfied. I don't talk to my ex anymore he told me he came back to use me for sex because he missed sex so much. Not me.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. It's almost the same as mine as I fell with sexual acts, not intercourse with the ex spouse that I know doesn't care about me and only wants sex. Like you said lonliness crept in and a physical touch is better than none. If you cant beat them join them but I know that is not of God. I am so glad my ex keeps showing me how horrible he is bc that helps me to be turned off from his advantages.

Those Christian couples who were celibate before marriage aren't all lying.....they just stayed true to their boundaries and continued to sow into their relationship with God even in the midst of temptation! There are truly those who walked it out keeping HIM first....this is their authentic testimony. So don't give them shade and assume that they aren't being real just because they did not fall off!!!!☝🏽🙏🏽💖🙌🏽

Praise God that He will keep His promises to us. Amen. I know of couples who were celibate before marriage and God Blessed their marriage.
I think they were speaking to Christians who fell off their celibacy journey but weren’t being authentic about it. I didn’t interpret their comments to be about those who are celibate the entire way. It’s one of those “ if the shoe fits” situations. Hopefully, those who are continuing on their celibacy journey see your comment and are inspired and encouraged 🙂

I totally understand what Breeny is talking about when she says that we start counting our abstinence. Yes, "doing the right thing the right way" I had that experience and I'm doing it the way God wants now. What Letterias says is so real, after my divorce I was going crazy because your body needs to readjust itself and yes I did fall and got up. I must testify though that prayer and fasting did help me to be at the place I am right now I specifically prayed that God would control my appetite for food, men and material things. Yall are amazing! May God grant you your spouses soon according to his will. He knows when the time is right for all of us singles. Well said Breeny "God has something for you to do right now". Great interview. Even with the correct focus abstaininig is difficult. God's Grace is sufficient. Success defined is different for everyone and it should always be a personal definition of ones purpose.
This was great. May God continue blessing her. Everything she mentioned I can relate to because I am living this thing call life and we go through so much until finally one day we find the right person. The part that she mentioned about falling into the temptation of having sex before marriage reminded me about when we stop looking at God and start going according to our flesh; it happened to me and when look back about why I gave in into that sin I see that I was taking over and not God. This was good y'all! I've been subscribed to her since the beginning of her time on youtube and this feels like such a full circle moment. When I first started watching her channel I was young and proud wild lesbian. Never thought for a second I'd be a Christian woman, delivered from homosexuality, pursuing purity on this abstinence until marriage journey. I subscribed to her channel because she was dark-skinned like me. I got saved a year ago and discovered this channel on my second year of my single season.. I started to feel God was preparing for marriage and I had the desire to start writing my future husband. I typed in dear future husband then there you were. When she fell off her celibacy journey. I stopped watching the video lol when she was like sex was really good. I was like if she messed up after 8 years I'm doomed. I messed up once 2 weeks ago after 11 months abstinent but I'm back on track with a better understanding of why I'm doing this and more ways to set myself up to win. Leaning fully into the Holy spirit. No more flirting with temptation. Thank you two for the transparency 💕

I totally relate to being abstinent and falling short. What made it most successful for me was focusing on God’s best for me and not keeping track of the days, months or years. I never prayed for my desire to leave (because I knew I would need it in marriage). I asked for self-control and didn’t put myself in compromising situations. I pray God’s strength for us all! Abstinence isn’t easy when you desire sex.
As someone who been abstinent since I was 18 & im a virgin, it’s really not that hard when you know what you want and don’t put yourself in tempting situations period

I know what the Word says about honoring God with your body. But you guys are trying to do this under the law. And what's worse is you take vows of abstinence before God and set yourself up in front of this platform to make your lives an open forum, setting yourself up for a fall. And it's really no one's business but yours. You all make abstinence a big deal. And because it's a big deal on this platform, it only causes you to think about sex and your natural desires all the more because abstinence becomes your focus & what you feel you have "done for God." What do I have to say about all that? What I say probably doesn't matter at all cuz it's not "thus saith the Lord." However, I should remind everyone that in the Old Testament if a man slept with a woman or even raped a woman, he was considered married to her in the eyes of God and was to provide for her the rest of his days! And on this side of the cross how many people sleep with multiple partners and never marry, commit, or provide for any of the women they continually bed! Seems there was more honor and value for women before the cross then by the men that claim they have grace on this side of the cross but don't walk in it. So do you think your abstinence before God is a trophy? He doesn't care if you have sex as much as he cares about how you value Him and honor Him with your life and love and provide for the one your intimate with the same way He loves and provides for you. Even David slept with Bathsheba and she was not his wife! But he was willing to care of her the rest of her days. Maybe if men had to provide for the one they bed, they would slow down and make sure she was the one before they charmed her. Abstinence is no trophy before God. What is the trophy? Honoring and valuing the God in people of the opposite sex as He honors and values His reflection found in you. Faithfulness in word, deed, body, and even in business dealings. And that's what will be your appeal. Abstinence isn't even the issue. The issue is God already saw you as married to all those you slept with casually, so do you think if u mess up He is going to lose His mind? Lol Even David acted faithless at times, but he was still a man "after God's own heart." Focus only on seeking Him and building His kingdom and all things will be provided to you, even a wife. Also, I heard you on her podcast and u said you wanted a woman that "wasn't stingy with her vagina." That sounded kind of crude. A woman is made to respond to a man's love. If she stops responding, check yourself. If a woman gets to where she no longer wants to communicate, the relationship is on the brink. She is tired of trying. Most women have been taught to be more passive about sex in general, but they want and need it as much as a man. The thing is, even if a woman doesn't think she wants it, she can be convinced that she wants and needs it just based on how the guy treats her that makes her have sex even though she might of been tired or on the fence about it! Women that have jobs, careers, and even small children may need help so by the time they get in bed they have something left to give. Women tend to get wrapped up with children and forget that serving their husband comes first, not the kids. There are stingy men out there also. Men are not supposed to deny their wives either! Couples are to prefer and serve one another. But the marriage bed is not undefiled if u bring all those u had sex with (Old Testament "married")and she brings all those partners she had sex with ("married, broke covenant with). Or a man misquotes the Word and says the marriage bed is undefiled and then wants to engage in pornography, anal sex, and other acts born of paganism etc. Your doctor guest with the Porche thinks he is a prize based on the material things he has. But he never intends to marry or support a wife. He uses those things to get the cookie for free. But he does not realize that his material possessions can not con an "A" woman because she doesn't care about his monetary status. Most "A" women already have careers, money, and tangibles. She is looking for a man with real substance, "the character and nature of Christ" with the same purpose together in the one she will commit to! Your woman is out there as a bride adorned for her husband, she is just waiting on you!
Love how you skipped over multiple verses in the Bible where it says to flee sexual immorality and any form of sexual contact outside of marriage. It’s Christians like you that try to water down the Bible . It’s very clear
@@Sandrinarhonda u are one that is clearly under the law because u are on the attack mode. Everything I said was by the love of God and by the Spirit of God. Furthermore, the Bible does say that in the last times there will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions who set up divisions, worldly people devoid of the Spirit. If you lift up the law as your standard instead of Christ, then you are your own God. But if you chose to live by the law, then you will have to keep the whole law in its entirety without sinning and you can't. That's why Christ came! And if you break any law, then you are guilty of the entire law. You will clearly have to become your own God! Yes we are to be the chaste Bride of Christ. But don't hold it up as a trophy when you are full of other inconsistencies that are just as detestable in conduct. God says those that do these things deserve to die: full of malice, strife, envy, deceit, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless gossips, haughty and boastful. And the list goes on and on. And all of us have been guilty of any of these things, that is WHY we need a Savior. That is why we need to live in His grace and not by the law. You are young, but don't hold your virginity up as a trophy to God. If your holding it up as a trophy, then you are doing it in your own strength and not His and could fall. Again, your virginity is not even the issue. You can pride yourself on it if you like, but then what about those other issues that you cannot hold up as a trophy to God but the law says those are just as weighty to God even deserving of death! The issue is not your virginity sweetie. It is knowing God, abiding in His grace through faith, allowing Him to perfect, strengthen and establish you and not trying to do it yourself. And building yourself up in faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, and above all else, keeping yourself in the love of God.
I’ve been in a relationship like the both of you all. The one spirit I had to renounce against that trauma was Jezebel. Smh Lord have mercy. It feels so wonderful to be FREE

I think one thing that lowers your perceptive value to potential men is statements like “best guy I ever dated” or “I was abstinent”. These statements unfortunately say that you are not new at this. Most guys unfairly want Cinderella. You want the girl who has not had a lot of dates and then some guys want Cinderella who dresses like Cardi B. But what I’m ultimately saying either way is that remember that your presenting a verbal resume. Every time you say “my ex” it puts you in the non Cinderella category to a guy because it means you’ve been to the ball. Speak highly of your self instead because your a resume
I am so LOVING this session on Dear Future Wifey. There is a HUGE misconception about sex and the woman, especially in the church. There are a lot of Christian women that don’t want sex. They will say, it’s not all that. However, they get married. Like WHY??? Why get married and you don’t want sex!!! I don’t get it. Don’t mess that brother up like that. And vice versa for the man. If you don’t want it like that don’t get with a woman that does. Chiiiillle, I’m not the one!!! 🥴🥴😂😂Shooot!!! I want to make sure we talk about sex while courting. Ain’t nobody getting married and NOT having sex!😁 It’s a REAL STRUGGLE! I’ve been trying to honor God and for the most of my Christian journey I have but there have been some failures!!! I always tell God, see, this is why I NEED to be married. God spoke to me about sexual relations and the affects it has. However, this was for ME not nobody else. For me!!! Do what God has directed you to do and honor him the best you can in obedience. He is so sovereign. Before you get married, have the conversation about sex and what you believe you should be doing. Pray and ask God for his guidance. I know Christian couples who had sex and the ones that didn’t before marriage. They have a flourishing marriage from what I see. I’ve been abstinent for years and it does get challenging but the things God will show you in your willingness to stay celibate until marriage will only add unto you and who you show up as in terms of your wholeness for your future wifey! We also have CR at my church too it’s an incredible program. Not a lot of people know about it still, so thank you for accrediting that to part of your healing! God Bless Pastor Rick Warren for seeing the need and creating that program. 🙏🏼 Also. I don’t think I’m alone here but singleness can also create anxiety around purpose for some…especially women who may find themselves abruptly single. Many think finding your calling/purpose is a gift that automatically comes with the single season and in my experience it hasn’t…been praying for purpose to be revealed to me for years because I have believed that there is also where could lead me to my husband. Yet I am passionate about finding my purpose aside from just that reason because I desperately want to know the fulfillment of living in the calling God has for me. I want to serve Him with my life and my time in finding what he’s called me to do. Would you and Breeny consider doing a talk on finding your purpose/calling and what that looked like for both of you, and how you knew it was God? If we as singles have the extra time it feels like this could/should be the most important puzzle piece to find in our single journey and it isn’t always easy. Would love to see a talk on this with you, since you have obtained success as a creative as well and hear how God guided you to that and how you knew that’s where He wanted you, and how you use your gifts for the kingdom in that space.

Man. I can relate to not feeling seen as well Breeny. I'd go so far as to say not valued and I can't understand why when I have so much good in me to offer. And Lateras I'm like you. Every year I set the goal of marriage. And I've almost given up a few times. I'm constantly asking God when and why me. Thanks for this episode. I feel seen.
