I totally concur with your comments about Katie Strachen. Her work is magnificent. I am thrilled that y’all will be at Summer School. I will be there with my friend, Karen Griebe. She said she left a comment already. We went to Bristol weekend last year and The Attic put on such an interesting weekend and the food was wonderful. We are so excited. Well I am long time stitcher but recent flosstube viewer. Enjoy the two of you very much. So much I am trying to catch up on all the episodes. My husband is now familiar with your voices coming from my sewing room and yet can't remember your names. He just yells out to see if I am watching "Thelma and Louise" - so that is how you are known in this house! I enjoy the friendship as much as anything else! Bravo!

I lived in Ohio from junior high through college.. I have family who lives a mile from the indie track.. We went every year. It was so much fun. I miss it. We'll be watching along with you tomorrow.

And Laura, I am watching this on Sunday afternoon after the end of the Indy 500 ... I don't follow auto racing at all, but I was interested to watch the race today because you are all hepped up about it. I hope it was as fun for you as you hoped it would be.

Another fun episode! Thanks for all of the inspiration. Laura, Tony Kaanan is my favorite. His performance was so exciting! I met him years ago when he came to Dallas to race in the Dallas Grand Prix. Since he’s from Brazil, we invited him to come to the Dallas Zoo to see our golden lion tamarins. I had the pleasure of accompanying him on his Zoo tour. We even gave him an honorary adoption of our tamarins. He was a very nice guy, gracious and even a little shy. What a fond memory of a special day - just one of many in my Dallas Zoo career! Safe travels to both of you!

Well stitchers….we always have vintage Brenda & Laura floss tubes to watch while we wait for their return. That’ll have to hold us. I loves these two charming women. What a gift.
Wanted to thank you both for your suggestions and encouragement for my sister and I to put on our own small stitching retreat! We had a wonderful time. We had a smalls exchanged, had a freebie table, and shared finishes. We surprised each other with fun gifts. Our faces hurt at the end of the day we laughed so much. The last day, we had some ladies come that wanted to learn to cross stitch. It was great and everyone has asked us to please do it again. Again, appreciated your encouragement.Sadly, less than a week later my sister’s husband lost his battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She is struggling…they had been married over 50 years. I am doing my best to bed there for her. We get together anytime she calls. Sometimes, there is stitching done, and sometimes not. Just go through charts and fabric. It provides a small respite for her. I have shared your videos with her. They are uplifting! Thank you for that. I will end on a more positive note. There is a clinical study coming in the next month that is a possible treatment for MD. This is huge!! The doctor has told us that this is just the first company, with several right behind them. I know there are many families dealing with this awful disease and my prayers are with all of them. There is hope! Thanks for letting me share this. Hope you both have a wonderful month and safe travels. Can’t wait to see what all you accomplish! I need Brenda to give me some marching orders!!😂 Thank you both again.

Hi Brenda - Hi Laura Speaking of Indy 500 - One year my younger brother won a trip to a Indy 500 - to see the Race Track and the whole thing - He went - he got to ride in one of the Race Cars that was in the Indy 500 on the Big Race Track and the Race Car was driven by one of the famous Race Car Drivers. I forget which one. From that day on I envy him so bad. He was there for the entire day seeing every bit of Indy 500 - Riding in one of the Race Cars around the entire Race Track by one of the famous Race Car Drivers. He loved every single minute of it. I love your WIPS - They are so pretty - you are making great progress on them. Why Laura - I am so very proud of you for obeying your Marching Orders from Brenda - Good for you. You get an A+. I’m with you,Laura. I was traumatized my the witch in the wizard of oz, when I was young. I’ve never heard of anyone else with the same adversion. I refused to see Wicked until my kids told me it gives the story behind the witch. I was hesitant but saw it on Broadway and loved it.
40 yrs ago, took my 5 yr old daughter to the Disney movie “ Return to Oz” but it turned out to be the most scary movie with hall of heads that the Queen would change onto her neck each day. The monkeys had wheelies their feet and flew around like maniacs! I took my daughter out if there after 15 mins as I knew we “ both” would have nightmares ! 😱. It should never have been classified fir young children ! 😖

Laura, I lived in Indy for seven years from 1978-1984. We could hear the cars as they raced four miles away. I never went to a race. However, I did run in the Indy half marathon which ended on the racetrack.
Sooooo I started watching this episode before the Indy 500 was run. Laura got me excited to watch it cause I am an all sports enthusiast ..unlike Laura who doesn’t like golf!!! Yes i picked up on that ..Thank you Brenda for defending US GOLFERS!!! I was excited for the sweet winner Marcus Ericsson…well liked by all…announcer said. Ok so I too am bummed after a major golf tournament is over … like The Masters…yes Laura, pure sadness cause my passion for that year is over!! I get you. Another example of sadness… the month of June basically without y’all are you serious… I’m already suffering from the “DISCONNECT”…Y’all can’t be serious!!! I get it about the Indy500. We have the V8 Supercars here in Australia, and it has been a tradition for me since I was a little girl to watch it. It's an 8 hour race and the family knows not to disturb me for the day.....hehehe
Laura, if you want margins larger than 2” to accommodate your Q-Snaps, you could sew strips of muslin to each of those sides. I’ve done that if the stitching will be too close to the Qs so I can maneuver my needle easier. BTW, I plan to fan girl you at Stitch Con, so beware! 😆

Oh great episode! Oh Laura i finally found a kindred spirit who doesn’t like the Wizard of Oz as much as I don’t! It was a childhood nightmare every time it came on the TV.
