Um, as a woman, I can tell you there is a BIG DIFFERENCE, between seeing anyone else, and seeing your BEST FRIEND. Nothing can excuse that, that was more than rotten.
@@svin7987 For starters, because you rightly expect that your ex and best friend now talk about you, share with each other the private, insecure thoughts you told each in confidence.
Brenda's mistake was actually believing Kelly was her friend in the first place. She wasn't Brenda's friend before Dylan, during Dylan or after Dylan. Kelly always had a major chip on her shoulder when it came to Brenda. Even in the reboot, she treated Brenda rudely.
She couldn't hold back to even try and make the act look fake, she delivered it on point in this episode. In fact she pretty much nailed every scene interaction in every camera focus on her in the show. Brenda was _the_ real protagonist of 90210, tied in with her brother Brandon as a close second, depending the which episode.
She should have told Brenda about it...which would have been extremely awkward and caused drama as well...but she should have brought it up to her directly.
Anjelica Hamilton congrats! Yeah I always loved kelly and dylan it just seemed like something was missing with Brenda and Dylan’s relationship and it was the fire!
When Brenda left the show it lost its spark. Valerie was such a poor replacement, as she was just your classic soap villainess. And Brandon was always such a bore, the 1990's picture of saintliness.
Brenda was the star of the show I seriously can't believe they just kicked her out. As soon as she was out of the show the show just simply went down hill.
@@Dman425 they all were young and stupid especially the girls. She was going out a bit too much but they also were mighty jealous of her. When the show started she was already the most established actress on the show - and then she got most of the attention too (not all positive - see the going out part )
Kelly proved she was always jealous of Brenda and used her every chance she got. Its what Brenda got so tired of and why they fought so much. Truth is Kelly proved to be a toxic friend to everyone. Only reason she wanted Dylan was because Brenda had him. She deep down didn't care about Brenda at all.
@@jade5615 yeah but you could tell she especially liked Dylan but she thought she couldn't have him like that or that he was just a crush - it was only a matter of time with those two
Kelly was so insecure she didn't know the difference between being someone's distraction vs someone's focus. That's where she always got lost and codependent on validation. She was always jealous of Brenda's ability to get what she wanted but never realized it was bc Brenda had the confidence and resolve not to settle for less. If Kelly just straightened her back up and became more independent she would've had a better romantic life and would've learned to be genuinely happy for others, even when they were doing better than her. Kelly and Brenda were BFFs but Kelly didn't have unconditional love for Brenda imo
I love how Brenda gave them both hell for their lack of loyalty. And although it doesn’t excuse his cheating, Brenda always stood up to Dylan too which is why I think they truly had a stronger bond. Kelly was just physical.
kelly and brenda had no pride in wanting to be in a relationship with a person who needs 6 months to know who he is in love with between Brenda and Kelly, and where they are even more ridiculous is wanting to remain the best friends knowing that they are in love with the same boy.
Interesting how Dylan says to Brenda in front of Kelly, "you're the one who broke up with me - don't ever forget it." It does imply that on some level, he's seeing Kelly to hurt Brenda.
@@Abused_Peanut But Dylan clearly still wanted to be with Kelly even after Brenda came back from Paris. Kelly was the one who insisted that Dylan stay with Brenda because she didn't want to see her best friend get hurt. When Dylan and Brenda broke up after it came out that she had been seeing someone else while in Paris, Dylan made a beeline to Kelly and later told her that he had "always" wanted her.
Win1@atime and then continued to yo yo between them into season 4, even after Brenda left he travelled to London to be with her, then all the way through to the 2008 reboot. Dylan had no idea what he wanted; true, innocent, deep love with Brenda, or unbridled lust and passion with Kelly...he always seemed to want what he couldn’t have. They both should have dumped him and chose their friendship instead.
Dylan didn’t want to take responsibility so he said that to Brenda to take it Off of him but really he wants to be with Kelly and at the same time get out of a jam
Brenda had the best put downs when it came to insulting Kelly. I loved it. She was losin Dylan. Brenda had to have something to combat with. Go Brenda!
I love how Dylan basically admits that the only reason he's with Kelly is because Brenda broke up with him 0.28, and then Kelly has this smug look on her face. haha
he's just not wanting to take responsibility - hes still hiding the fact that he fooled around with her this summer so of course he's going to say that; its really cowardly of him. he should just be honest instead of stringing Brenda along - he knew he wanted Kelly but he still couldn't admit that to Brenda. its a mistake, because it makes brenda think that she still has a chance.
@@deesee3622 if he wanted Kelly so badly, why did it take him so long to choose? Better yet, why didn’t he come clean when Brenda came clean about Rick as soon as she got home? If he wanted to be with her so bad, he would have freed himself ASAP. No offence, but DK stans are highly delusional, I cringe to think what your real life relationships must look like if you have such a lustful, toxic and deceitful relationship on a pedastal.
@@jade5615 He didnt because his feelings for Kelly were deeper than what brenda had with Rick. I cant believe people cant see that! Its different than what happened between David and Nicky that summer as well. I think what it is between the DK fans and BD fans is the DK fans probably have had soul mates in their lives and know what it feels like - you feel strongly connected to them in a way thats almost cant be explained. I remember feeling awful for Brenda at the time but then when I met my soulmate I understood the longing looks, the connection all of that...I even remember having to admit that Dylan and Kelly really do have a connection so strong even before I met my soulmate - its undeniable. Its not about lust, its love, deep, real genuine love. Brenda was bigger than her and Dylan and bigger than Beverly Hills, it makes sense that she would be gone for good
@@deesee3622 How on earth it was always Dylan and Kelly when he always chose her as a second choice and every time that Brenda wasn't around or because he was mad at her?! Are we watching the same show? And how on earth it was always Dylan and Kelly when Kelly made it very clear to Brandon that he was her choice?! lmao. You all the Dylan/Kelly fans are hilarious af
In a way I would like Rick and Brenda to have a relationship and Rick giving Dylan a good kick up the ass every time. Dylan would definitely hate Rick and Brenda being a couple
I wasn't alive when this show first premiered and when it ended I was only like two years old but it was always my mom's favorite TV show & so I was raised on reruns of this show & I remember watching this episode one day & seeing this scene & cheering at the top of my lungs because I never liked Kelly and Brenda was my all time favorite on the show & when she said "if it looks like a duck and it walks like a duck" I was like "YES BRENDA YES TELL HER!!!"😂😂😂
Jasmine Simmons plus I'm sure you've seen the ep where dillion and her end things. She wanted so bad to be w him😜but that's a big life rule you just don't go there in going for your friends ex.
I'm still in shock that Brenda forgave them both. What they did to her was unforgivable, and of course Brenda has a right to get upset. First Kelly goes out with her boyfriend and then later with her twin brother, who does that!!???? People who do that are not true friends at all.
after this I NEVER saw Kelly as the sympathetic character they later tried to turn her into. Im sorry, you don't go gallivanting around with your bffs boyfriend, and then act so casually about it. lol, i cant believe i still remember all this stuff.
Kelly having a lot of nerve. You are a Bimbo and I’m glad Brenda called you on it. Kelly looking so Smug. Dylan was your Consolation Prize Kelly you were always so jealous of Brenda. I could never stand Kelly. She was disloyal back stabler spiteful person and phony hypocrite. I would have Never Forgiven Either of them!!! Then you just had to take Brenda’s brother too. So much jealousy
aaaaahhhh I remember watching this episode and was really cheering for Brenda! Dylan+Brenda forever! Stupid writers for messing up the best OTP on the show!
I remember the shows creaters explained that Shannon Doherty and Luke Perry - who had been in a relationship - had broken up and were refusing to do any more love seems together, so they were forced to seperate Brenda and Dylan
I agree BUT-Brenda had become rather high-maintenance. By the way, what do you think (I'm genuinely curiously) was Brenda going to be written as spoiled and bratty (even bitchy) or did Shannen Doherty lean her that direction?
No way did Dylan love Kelly more. All of them knew each other before the Walsh clan moved to Beverly Hills. Why didn’t Dylan and Kelly hook up then? Dylan did not start to pull himself together until Brenda got with him. Kelly was getting over dating Steve first season. Got with Dylan , dropped him. Got with Brandon left him only to end back up under Dylan. But Brenda had the bad rep? Please
Agree, first two seasons Dylan barely looks twice at Kelly. Kelly even admits to trying to get a date with him in season 1 while he was with Brenda but he turned her down. Soul mates 🤣🤣🤣
Regardless who you like more Kelly shouldn't have dated her bestfriends ex-boyfriend/ first love who does that? I think thats gross, thats like dating your sisters ex-boyfriend.
i still don't understand why noone in the group ever pulled kelly and dylan to the side and told them that they were wrong for betraying brenda like that it's like everyone was ok with what was going on everyone excepted the situtation and noone stood up for brenda and she became the outcast that was crazy i mean i know people will make their own decisions but every member in the crew should have checked both kelly and dylan!
@@marianmoncayo5996 I agree. Especially when Brandon fall for kelly. She put him through the ringer with Dylan shit. Because in the new bh90210 kelly has a child for the deadbeat Dylan. I guess she should have pick Brandon. I really don't see the fascinating in dylan. He's too mess up.
Its not so much that Kelly fooled around with a boyfriend of her bff, its much deeper than that when you consider that Dylan was Brenda's FIRST BOYFRIEND, and the man she LOST HER VIRGINITY TO. That makes it that much deeper and worse. If its a guy you lose it to, the first time, its not the same if it was a boyfriend you didn't lose it to. If you know what I'm saying. In all these comments I'vre read, not one person has picked up on that or mentioned it.
What!?! How is it okay that someone's best friend is dating her ex who she loved. It doesnt matter who dumped who. Best friends dont lie and sneak around with their friends exes. And then they go and make Brenda the villain. I dont understand
I never understood why Kelly continued to go out with Dylan, after he refused to tell Brenda about their fling in the summer. That lack of honesty from him doesn't bode well for a successful relationship. Plus, in the episode where they graduate, Dylan admits he loved Brenda "more than anybody".
Brenda wasn't being a fake or a bitch. Its the idea her first love and so called best friend were doing that behind her back instead of just telling her the truth to her face. Maybe it wouldn't have hurt as much. And the fact they messed around together over the summer while Brenda and Donna were in Paris and kept it hidden from Brenda. I stopped liking Kelly after this point, because was not a good friend to Brenda and she was so damn selfish.
I keep wondering where all that anger Doherty has comes from? I know it's acting but at the same time, I get the feeling that she perpetually feels/felt slighted.
Jennie Garth is definitely pretty, but the most beautiful women that were on 90210 were Tiffani Thiessen & Vanessa Marcil. I also think that, by Season 2, Shannen really blossomed & was so pretty with a lovely figure. In general, I find brunettes more attractive than blondes (men & women).
The only time me I wasn’t crazy about her hair is in season 5 where it was just above her shoulders. Loved her with the short hair in season 6. She has a face where most hairstyles look good on her. Shannen does not look good when hair is pulled without bangs she just doesn’t have the head shape
@LoveMusic123211 Brenda didn't go out on a date with the first guy she met. That was the same guy she met in Paris. Yes, Brenda waswrong for cheating on Dylan in Paris BUT she did admit it to him, apologized & ASKED him if he cheated too. He admitted to cheating but he did NOT admit it was with her best friend! Brenda DID say it was ok for him to date another so I don't think shewould have been that freaked out seeing him with another girl...but with her best friend? That's OFF LIMITS!
Even Ducks are too infinitely good and beautiful for Kelly.. I love Ducks; a better confrontation statement that my homegirl Brenda should've gave her is "if it smells like shit and acts like shit maybe it is shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Brenda only broke up with him ONCE. How many times did Kelly break up with him? Her and Dylan, her and Dylan and/or Brandon? Kelly broke up with him more times than you can count on both hands, she was never truly committed to him. Brenda is his soulmate, and the one he broke down to about his father. Brenda and Dylan all day. Every day. Forever. And don't anyone forget it!
If Dylan really loved Brenda..he would've never done that to her. If Kelly was a real friend, she would've never gone after Dylan. So in the end...Dylan and Kelly are fake as hell
TheAzurinboyz2012 the writers made the charachtertoo too desperate for a guy and that's what it was bout. In the end they broke it off and never got back together.
@LoveMusic123211 What is her fault exactly? It's not her fault that Dylan cheated on her with her best friend while she was in Paris. It's not her fault that herso-called best friend started dating him right away, immediately after they broke up. What kind of friend is Kelly? You're never supposed to date your friend's boyfriend or ex-boyfriend. It's disrespectful, immoral & trashy. So what if she broke up with him. It's common sense that he could date anybody EXCEPT her best friend!
I'll never agree with BFFs seeing each other's ex-boyfriends etc. Especially without some type of conversation with your friend first (i.e. giving their blessing). However, Kelly & Dylan's chemistry is unmatchable in comparison. They were truly soul mates (in my opinion)!
I remember being a new mom of 2, watching this at 24, with my friend. Wed do it every week. When Brenda said "If it walks like a duck..." we hollared, like it was the best burn ever 😅 Crazy to think that was 30+ years ago.
I've watched this show from beginning to end n it helped me out with everything that was going on in my life.. I was 15 when it first came on n ended when I was 25.. best show ever.. I really miss it n wish they'd do a reunion.. I just finished watching it all over again but Noone has the last one were they get married.. it sucks.. totally love this show. they just don't make shows like this anymore 😔😔 n I've always been team Brenda n Dylan 😀😀
Shannen Doherty is so freakin gorgeous, and the star of that show(btw I never watched).Anyone who cheats on Shannen?Brenda is an idiot!Shannen is the hottest woman ever. Its good to see these clips, thanks for the post!
No matter what, you don't go out with your BFF's ex, knowing how passionate they were into each other. That's just gross. Then Kelly went out with Brenda's brother, BFF of Dylan
