Brenda, I stumbled upon your channel (I would like to say, by chance -but no!) because of a blessing 💜🙏 you’re so inspirational. Glad to cross your path. From one Brenda to another 😍
Tony, Life wasn’t always this way. As a child I was discouraged. A failed marriage and a single mother. Yes...I am blessed to have found Mike and my creative voice!
thank you for sharing your story. I cried as you told it, because I didn't know until a friend paid for 2 painting classes for my 49th birthday that I could paint. When I first started, I thought I would go out of my mind! I was noticing colors, textures and light for, it seems, the first time in my life, and I wanted to know how to paint everything I saw! lol. I am not confident at all, but may get to that point at some time in my life. It doesn't matter. I like painting anyway. That, and my photography. Thanks again!
Just discovered your channel and I am so ok glad I did! Looking to take a break from graphic design and go to my first love once again (painting); straightaway you are my favourite tutor. I love the intense simplicity of your work...oh, you are very prolific too. Glad to hear about your journey in art, it is very inspiring, hope we will meet someday. Best wishes and love from Nigeria
I was told as a child that being an artist, "anyone can do that" and that I should look for a "real" job. Got married to a most wonderful man who encouraged me to go back to college and get my BFA. finished at age 47 and have never looked back. I really enjoyed your workshop in AZ. Thank you. Hi Brenda, I am new to watercolors having worked all my life since I was 16. Now that I am retired, I am bringing out this desire to paint that has always been in me. You are such an inspiration and so beautiful. Your watercolors are amazing. Thank you for sharing your story and your talent! Blessings! Sandy Zando
So beautiful. Your words about art being your voice is very powerful to me as I have always had issues with speaking my truth. Thank you for your transparency and authenticity. Your work inspires me. Carole Parks
What a lovely and inspiring story! I also have a husband who supports and inspires me art, as I encourage him with his artistic expression. What a blessing.
I love your work Brenda and this is a great video that reveals your inspiration. Thanks for sharing. You are a gift to the world. Keep shining your art light.
Such a beautiful gift is your story, both spoken and its unspoken colors... I too have come to love rusted metals and such! One month new to the world of art and I am very excited to learn. Thank you in advance!
As I'm rediscovering my artistic voice (after 30 years!) I am inspired by artists such as yourself, who share your amazing talents and wisdom generously with others. I'm so grateful to have found your videos and website, and I'm learning as I go along this journey. Thank you for sharing your journey with us ... your artistic voice is so valuable and you are a gift!
A super video, Brenda! I found not only are your painting's inspirational but you as an artist and a person, inspiring! I could relate to many of the things you spoke of, thank you! :)
Brenda, I am deeply moved by your sharing of what has touched you so deeply with your husband, the old trucks and what and how what is important to you informs you as an artist. Thank you for your openness.
Brenda Swenson Watercolors Brenda, The richness of your watercolours is what I would also like to know the brand. I like the fact that in some of your art the buildings are sloped, windows aren't straight, which reminds me of the dream world. Do you teach any on line courses with that emphasis? My back ground is the dream world and I would like to work with that more through water colour.

This is so surreal...I felt as if I was listening to myself...there are so many parallels... trying to find my voice ..... thanks for inspiring..God bless you!
Thank you for sharing your journey. I have so many of the same experiences including a husband who understands my need for art in my life although no vintage trucks. I look forward to hearing more of your journey in 2016.
Such a wonderful video! I’m celebrating 39 yrs of marriage and your words reminded me of why I love my husband so much. We are truly blessed.Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your story. I was touched and inspired. I too experienced a very difficult time in my life when I could not paint but now it is my joy and constant desire! I am so happy I discovered you today! I look forward to discovering more of your work.

This is such a lovely message "through art, I became a stronger person" .. thank you for the inspiring words .. and your soul reflects in your paintings .. I am greatly inspired by your work and words :) - new sub!
Brenda, it was a pleasure meeting you - and your loving husband - through your video story of how you found your voice. I identified with it, as I suspect many have and will. It is a story worth telling and hearing. I hope I can find my watercolor voice in time, just as you did. In the meantime, thank you for sharing your story with us. It is genuinely inspiring. BTW, your truck is a work of art in itself... gorgeous. You and hubby did a fine job restoring it. Best of luck in your watercolor journey and life journey.
Beautifully inspiring story! I love the old truck story and your conquering of fear! The whole reminds me of the poem: "Hokusai Says" by Roger Keyes. "Hokusai says look carefully. He says pay attention, notice. He says keep looking, stay curious. He says there is no end to seeing..."
Very inspiring!Your paintings are so lovely and warm! It`s also nice to see exactly this kind of life of the artist: serene, peaceful, with people which support you.I think it differs from what I got use to see. Thank you!)
