I appreciate how you allow yourself to be open when rolling with them at the end. You are a great instructor in giving them a chance to apply their techniques instead of just bashing them. Great demonstration and a well earned belt, be proud and continue your journey :)

Perhaps I'm dating myself, but if you're a bluebelt and you're tapping brown belts, I think it's time for a promotion. As I recall, if a bluebelt is tapping all other Blues, and holding his own against purple belts or "running with the pack" so to speak then he's ready. This guys a solid purple belt.

You still have to follow the belt guidelines.. still takes 8 years minimum. 2 years blue, 1 year purple, 1 year brown. There’s a 16 year old I trained with who ran through basically every competing black belt in western Canada, he still has to wait
