Khabib and Islam could only take their grappling to this level due to him coming to America training under aka bjj coach leandro Viera and further progressing by training with top cream of the crop adcc champions like yuri simione on a regular basis. They integrated a lot of high level jiujitsu into their game and that's the only reason they can perform at such high level. Imagine them training only in Russia only doing sambo they wouldn't have half the skills they have now.

Frank Mir was in Uzbekistan with khabib to train new generation of fighters. Not every fighter 'knows' the game deeply. Frank is a rare breed. dude idk how come so many ppl were picking Charles to win, even professional fighters, I mean WTF..... Am I the only one who thought Islam was gonna walk through Charles? Because to me that was pretty fucking obvious, Charles has 8 losses, got dropped in every single fight against LW top contenders, I swear to god I was telling everyone that Islam was gonna knock Charles down and smash him on the ground and possibly finish him after a few rounds and that's exactly what happened.
