It's sad that Home Movies had ended with Brendan's camera got run over and broke. It's in my childhood. Thank you Brendan, Jason, and Melissa for the memories.
Like what the last guy said. Brendon received his camera from his biological, divorced father and used it to distract himself from the situation he was forced to be in. As Brendon develops, and wonders why he ever did all of this filmmaking in the first place, the camera is destroyed just minutes later. It represents a chapter of his life ending, but another chapter beginning. It is a beautiful show.
I marathoned this serie during the covid lockdown in Italy in 2020, one episode every day while having dinner. At the end of s4, I couldn't help but tear down a bit when this song started playing. Thanks for everything and for keeping me company in those terrible, terrible months Brendon Small! Grazie di tutto.
I still remember watching the final episode on demand back in 2009 and not knowing it was the final episode I started watching the show back in 2007 and it became my favorite series of all time and that ending still hits just as much as today. To me it's my favorite moment in all of animation.
can't help but tear up to this every time. home movies is such a big part of me. the animation, the humor, the music. I have the box set and get to watch it with my girl and she laughs at me cause i can't help but smile at every second of this show. was kind of the first adult cartoon for me outside of the simpsons, family guy and king of the hill that wasn't absurd, super crude or anything. just funny in a very simple way. watching it end was a heartbreaker for me cause the show has so much potential but didn't need to continue really. it was a perfect ending to a perfect show.
@@gunitaz3842 do you remember the episode Mcguirk was repairing Paula’s kitchen and there was a quick montage at one point of him just slacking off with music playing. Is there a name for that song?
when me and my fiance had fights id always leave and walk to this now shes gone I feel completely alone and I wanna get her back all this reminds me of is that chance i lost
With the success of Dethklok's new tour and the Metalocalypse movie, I hope Brendon Small considers returning to Home Movies. He could easily just pick up where he left off and do a season 5, but I frankly feel that would diminish the power of this ending. That said, I think a spinoff called Dorm Movies or something where Brendon (the character) is older and is back to his bs, with familiar crew returning would be dope.
Okay small funny story to this, I ADORE this music but never knew what genre to call it until I saw this comment and looked up “Midwest Emo” and I have never looked back. Thank you for fixing my life
I never got the chance to watch this show all the way through until recently, and lemme tell you… it’s hitting hard. This series felt like a good friend to me. 🥲
