That whole talk about checking out small niches was honestly heartwarming and the homestuck thing genuinely flashbanged me, thank you Brendan for making me feel better and jumpscaring me mid programming
I genuinely IRL gasped its like I got a sock to the gut With that being said I feel like if he actually read Homestuck he wouldn't have just left it at a Dave Strider reference he'd probably mention ICP running in this years election or something to that nature
@@shaynehughes6645 oh absolutely i wouldn't force my worst enemy to read Homestuck, it's something that either clicks with you immediately or is otherwise excruciating
@@shaynehughes6645 honestly i think the universe would very well collapse if Brendan read Homestuck all the way through, it just wouldn't be able to contain that much pure sinister energy
Probably a side-effect of this one being a 3-man, giving him ample room to radiate while all juiced up. It's been a hot-minute since we last had a 3-man podcast; it reminds me of back when they had The Void on-side to kinda fill that fourth slot.
My mother was working during 9/11 and her whole workplace got sent home early since her boss was from New York. When she came home to tell my father, my dad didn't even look up from sorting his MtG cards and muttered something along the lines of, "Okay, and..?."
I'm the same age as Billy, I remember on 9/11 my mom took me out of school early and wouldn't really explain why. She said something about a plane crashing in a field a few hours away (flight 93, I grew up in PA). I didn't know 9/11 was happening, but I remember going home from school early, and this isn't even a bit, I remember playing *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone* on the computer. This is how I'm learning that that game didn't come out until after 9/11, this is some Mandela effect bullshit
I think my elementary school just ruined reading books for me because they assigned us Bridge to Terabithia, Where the Red Fern Grows, and Flowers for Algernon so as a dumb little kid I was just like "oh you read books when you want to be REALLY sad. I don't like being sad."
9/11 - I was in 5th grade. We were doing some kinda project on Prehistoric Animals and I was excited to talk about Sabertooth Tigers. Instead my teacher, who had a radio, was crying and turned on the classroom TV and we spent the entire day watching the towers fall, then all the crazy stuff on TV.
I was 4 when it happened. All I remember was being in an emergency assembly outside the school when it happened. I don’t remember what anyone said at the time or any tv footage.
Brendan is like the ideal unmedicated ADHD character. Imagine if everyone had the power to drink enough caffeine to tranquilize a horse and they could use it to study. We would live in a society of philosopher-kings.
My job has me drive across chunks of the midwest and to make the road trips go by I've started listening to the audio books for the Storm Light Archive (just finished Oathbringer). Hearing Stormlight mentioned in this podcast was not something I ever expected but I'd love to see Cameron and Brendaniel do a segment where they try to explain the series to Billy or any random person they grabbed and are holding captive in Brendan's mountain dew chamber.
Fuck yeah! This is the best birthday present! Edit: I'd vote Brendaniel for President. Edit Edit: Slender Brendaniel is a terrifying prospect and I'll see it in my nightmares. Thank you
I would unironically be down for a version of Pondering Spooky Tapes that's just talking about a book that only one of the podcast members has actually ever read and it's usually just Brendan bullshitting about what was in the book versus the movie adaptation, but he's telling the truth often enough to fuck with the others constantly.
@@gremlinman9724 "Wait, why the fuck is God threatening to kill Moses and his entire family RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THEIR RESCUE MISSION if Moses doesn't immediately cut his son's wee wee skin off?"
To add onto Brendan's stuff about fnaf, as someone who was into it when the first 2 games had come out, there was no greater feeling then being in a computer class, your friend leaning over to tell the scott cawthon site had updated with a new teaser for 3 or 4, copying and pasting that image into photoshop, brightening it, and losing your fucking minds at what ever was hidden in it. It was not necessarily a new idea at the time, but with how simple it was allowed kids with little to no photo editing knowledge to feel like we were fucking nic cage in the da vinci code.
I was in middle school when the Ferdy Fivebear games were really getting popular and I can support Brendan’s assertion that 2 is literally all muscle memory. It is just repeating the same actions over and over again but faster. There is a certain age where one would be completely unable to play that game.
For anyone who hasn’t really seen FNAF stuff, I’d recommend Viva Reverie’s vids on it. They’re like 8 minutes or less and give pretty good representation of the “noob to lore goblin” pipeline
38:17 actually relatable holy shit. 5 hour energy just makes my body able to relax instead of constantly being in pain and agony from Asperger’s in combination with adhd As well as severe anxiety 😅
Clearly Brendan isn't away of the PST deep lore. We all know his first memory is him being in a ball pit thinking "I will remember this". Your nefariousness shall not get us today Brandon. We have the countermeasures.
strap billy to a chair. keep him awake with electricity. And put all the Dune audiobooks on at once. Make him listen to all of dune 12 this way. That is the content i wish for!
Idk if there's ever been a 3-host episode of Please Stop Talking before... I know there's been one for Pondering (Halloween 3). I won't complain, tho, as I'm sure it'll be a fun time!
After binging the fuck out of PST for the past two days and getting through like 10 episodes, I can categorically say that from his sixth sense for Mtn Dew Pitch Black (my first true addiction), the stimulant reverse tolerance (I also have ADHD and stimulants make me normal), and the whole viewpoint of I don't give a shit about others people's view of shit because I don't feel other's should affect my perspective and enjoyment of niche media, and the amount of puns that just shoot out of the man's mouth; Brendy is a soul sister I never had and I hope his curry is always the perfect level of spice.
9/11 I was in... 10th grade. Sophmore in high school Old enough to START to understand it Also remember trying out FNAF 1 when it was new and just.. "Yea, this is kinda cool, and it's really hard but not in a way I can deal.. I'm bored."
The reason Lift calls herself awesome is because she's an immature kid purposely acting immature as an attempt to stay a kid. She doesn't want to grow out of the kid her late mother loved. Do your research Brendan.
THE PREWORK DRINK BRENDAN WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS FUCKING REDLINE. I REMEMBER IT. IT KILLED PEOPLE AND I STILL DRANK IT, GOD I WAS SUCH A MORON IN HIGHSCHOOL
Banban is absolute dogshit but I’m honestly morbidly curious. FNAF gameplay isn’t for everyone, and some games (Sister Location) just suck to play no matter who you are, but I dunno. I enjoyed the plot in the early days of the first 6. I was younger then, but I dunno. Poppy Playtime 1 and 2 are shit. They’re well made, but don’t have much going on aside from that. And then the third one shows us a guy being eaten alive from the inside and worn as a skin suit, so you know. Improving. And that’s the state of mascot horror in a nutshell
