Haven't got to hold or use the new elite rods. Have held the new tatula rods.kn 7'1",7'3" mhf, and 7'4" frog rod and they all feel very good. Seemed to have alot of back bone and good durability from what I've seen. Going to pick atleast one up and then get the ish punch rod.
What about the guy who throws a 1 oz spinnerbait with a Colorado blade, what's the best fir that. Right now I'm using a 6'9 medium heavy that's got a soft tip. It's the best way I have now but would like to better that.
Mr Elher... I have tons of respect for you. Love the diawa products, I think you are extremely talented as an angler. BUT it freakin KILLS me inside when you ALWAYS say “medium action “ you are a professional man... everyone knows a rod will have A POWER and ACTION. They are two completely different things. It’s a Medium POWER rod!!!!!!!!!!! Not action. Jesus that erks me. Action would be the term used for how stiff it is. Or how close to a parabolic bend the rods loads up too. Moderate, fast, extra fast.... I know you know this... and I’m sure it’s some B$ diawa has you do for marketing purposes. But I hate that....
Because when he is saying that it more like the model name. Since these rods are designed for specific techniques there isn't the same length in a different power and action. If you look at other series of rods they will have 2-4 different models in a 7'3" casting rod for example and to differentiate you need to know both power and action. Hence the digit numbers that dobyns, shimano and loomis often use. The Tatula Elite and Tatula Elite AGS one have one rod in each length for each respective "set". Also the people that gain the most out of these videos don't want the specifics they want to be told if your doing x buy this and they go on their happy merry way.
I don't think I will ever understand the need for more than 2-3 rods. In my opinion, rod/reel companies made a genius marketing move by having their sponsored tournament fisherman convince everyone they need to have 5-10 (or more) technique specific combos.
(edit) I understand time is $ for pros and it's faster to drop one rod and pick up another than to cut and retie every time you want to change what you're throwing.
