I know these press conferences are about OU football, but there is no bigger lover of OU than I am. But hope that things with the wife, are going well, and thanks for your devotion to the program and your family
@@Shane4643 on paper it's the best match up in this game since 2011. I definitely respect the talent Texas has and what they've done so far but still FUCK TEXAS! lol
Better than last year but Texas is better. I know OU will move the ball on offense and it’s now time for defense to hold. Venables such a good guy praying for his wife.
I hope the Sooners running game is effective enough that Texas has to respect it instead of just blitzing for Gabriel all the time. Texas does have a good defensive line. And I believe Texas is offensive line will make it a little rough on our d-line. This game will be a test for our defense.
@@buddydiehl5874better Iowa state defense is ranked 54 Smu is ranked 29th and Cincinnati is ranked 62. So it’s not like we played defenses in the lower rankings like 122.
I agree the fact that OU and Texas are both sticking it to Yormark is awesome with his petty unprofessional BS. Not a damn thing he can do about it. Boomer! Here's a question for you with the reds just throw flags for everything on both sides or with they just hold them all game ? Lol since they don't wanna favor either team because they want to punish both? Lol
Thats my coach and for all those not listening, Gabriel will be there at the Heisman ceremony at the end of the year as a finalist or top 5 at worst. Count on it.
Hope I'm proven wrong but I just haven't seen enough improvement from this Oline or RBs to feel confident the offense can win this game without the defense scoring a couple TDs
I love the fact Brent does let this game be “bigger” than it is. It’s a historic rivalry but it’s a game in the end that OU can make a statement nothing more. If you want to win national titles can’t be caught up in just one rival game, for example a coach who does the opposite of Brent, Saban and etc is Lane kiffen it doesn’t work out. Your a fool if you truly think Brent isn’t hyping them for this game when behind closed doors and meetings
To me sounded like coach speak about the run game. 3.8 YPC can't be a positive. Also, texas has only committed 4.2 penalties per game. OU 8. Have to limit those.
Agreed. In the last post game, he said he though our rushing attack was "really good" and "efficient", despite admitting that he didn't look at the averages, while also citing that Major had 66 yards on 19 attempt.. Which equals 3.47 yards per attempt. You don't have to be remotely good at math to know that's nowhere close to "really good" or "efficient".
Defenses try and stop what they can and the run is easier than the pass. All those weaker teams could only focus on the run and Gabriel picked them apart.. I think you will see a more diverse offense on Saturday.
Gonna be one hell of a Red River ballgame! Best of luck to everyone and I pray for no injuries on either team! But I believe we are to good on both sides BUT Texas is also very talented! B🔴⚪️MER S⚪️🔴NER
I'm a Longhorn fan but Venables' admirable body of work as a college coach speaks for itself. I do believe Texas' line play will ultimately prove too much for the Sooners, but Dillon Gabriel is an incredibly talented quarterback and I predict he will be a handful for Texas' defense. Offensive line play will probably determine the outcome of the game and Texas cannot afford to give Gabriel time to throw the ball because he will pick us apart. I will add, I've been watching these two teams play each other for 60 years and, literally, anything can happen.
I agree. I think this is Texas' year again, unfortunately for us. I think they'll be more physical in the trenches, and we're too 1 dimensional on offense this year. But as you said, anything can happen. Hope it's a good close game, at least, with no injuries.
People are saying that tx is just too good for OU to win. News flash….this game is a coin flip and I like the SOONERS as an underdog. Oh yeah…..they have a QB this year. That could help. Ha! Boomer!
The Texas O-line all returned from last year, which is rare, and a good Oline is obviously a crucial piece of any successful offense. Ewers has been much more comfortable and consistent compared to his spotty performance last year overall, and the receivers are better, including the addition of Georgia transfer Mitchell.
@@Gutslingeryou don't know what you are talking about, so don't worry about what these "feeling based" fans are saying, that's exactly what you are doing. Your free to say what you want and critique everything, but the second you think no one else can say they believe in this team, You've shown that you are clueless. There will be things that happen during this game that you or no other fan has seen happen this year. So give it a rest arm chair QB. I've been watching this team play for 45 years and wouldn't assume that I have ever known more than the coaches or players. Either you are a fan or a critic of this team and you sure don't sound like the prior.
Defense is unbelievably better especially our D-Line our depth is bar none the best, ewers is more vocal, also a dual threat and making his reads due to a great O-Line, we have 2 excellent running backs 1 who's going to have a 1000 yard season. The linebackers and edges are actually getting either getting TFL or INTs. The secondary is still getting their bearings and have been beat a couple of times.
I do think ou special teams has dropped off a bit. Kicker seems slightly inconsistent and punter doesn’t seem to have distance or much control. A hidden line that could cost us the game
@@MidnightWolfSDJ receiving isn’t the issue. Look at the cinci game, punting a year ago they start at 25/35 this yr we had a few shanks already just an opinion though
