Great finds Dave!. And Cooper is awesome!. He reminds me of the golden retriever my family had, when I was a kid. Duke was his name. Those pups are very smart and have a great personality all their own!.
The Detroit, Toledo, & Ironton (DT&I) was one of the roads serving the lower Great Lakes before the steel industry packed their bags and left for greener pastures. It primarily ran in Michigan and western Ohio and got folded into the Grand Trunk in the early 80s. Also, congrats on the pup. He seems like an absolute sweetheart.
Great selection to add to your collection Dave. Leave the coaches grey with the pinstripe and decals would be my suggestion. Cooper is beautiful. Happy Modelling
The 2 hoppers you got for free are a smaller 2 bay hoppers, those are usally used for cement as anything bigger would snap due to the size and the Santa Fe one is an air slide… some are still used as buffer cars on bnsf, but most are still being rebuilt or have since been rebuilt into 60ft trash / construction and demolition gondolas as of currently.
That was a nice hall and very little work needed. Cooper Scott looks as if he has an even temperament and not overly excitable. Now if the dog pees in the house is that considered a golden shower, lol. Great video, Jersey Bill
Great Update and what an adorable Cooper! So awesome! Need to give us details, age, breed, backstory, etc. Let him know I hit the like button, he is on a roll!
I see you got a class K9 Dave 😂,my mate I worked on the post had a one like cooper he’s nice moved from Hammersmith to navada married his American sweetie ,nice coaches the blue and grey I would just add some numbers and a logo maybe like we had on the tube when they painted a whole train on the Piccadilly line in United airlines livery the colours look similar have it as an AirPort Express , All the best Mark ,and a big woof to cooper 😊😊
There are those who believe that SOME people should never be let loose at a train show. I imagine things will improve with the gnu boss. Sense at last! That FP is interesting. Mine is from the seventies, and needs re-wheeling. Other than that the mechanism is as good as any other of that quality range, with a sealed, unserviceable motor. I think of these things as you might a car starter-motor in which the brushes cannot be replaced. The more immediate 'Achilles heel' is the way the wheels pick up dirt. One circuit of a garage layout is enough to send the model stuttering. The wheels are then cleaned for the next circuit. This loco is the only one I have that does this; I believe it is not common across all of them. The wheels on my example appear to be brass/nickel silver ;at least they do when you can see past the ring of dirt. You have real talent; sometimes I 'dream' of you doing something R-E-A-L-L-Y special; something challenging. It's great if you like it I suppose, but anyone can make an old Athearn run. The Budd streamliner those locos pulled was a pretty swish train; how about building one in brass; locos and all. Solve the problems. Your life; each to his own. But among the more serious of us these channels are to stimulate and challenge. Have a look at Clickspring. Woof!

The main visual differences are in porthole and louver locations and grillwork. The earlier FT/F2/F3 have different fans compared to the later F7/F9. FP7/FP9 are 4' longer than the F7/F9 to allow more space for water tanks for the steam boilers. (NOT for the boiler itself, as the standard F7/F9 had the space for the boiler at the rear of the engine. The FP7/9 expanded water capacity. There's no such thing as an FP7B, just an F7B - the B units had extra space where the cab wasn't.) * Happy Rails *
I skipped this show as I'm headed down to ottervalley this month for my gmd1(and track for my layout). Hope the show was good, a buddy of mine got a pemco GG1 for free.
