To go through the amount of losses that Bret Hart has gone through... virtually every family member and best friend he's ever had, in such tragic circumstances too... Jim Neidhart was someone who was right there with Bret alongside every tragedy. So for Jim to now be gone too, that must hit extra hard for Bret. Damn, I really wish nothing but peace for The Best There Is, The Best There Was And The Best There Ever Will Be.

I don't know where I heard but when Bret Hart said I can't sit in the backyard and have a conversation with my peers like Curt, Owen, Rowdy, Rick, Jim etc., and talk about the matches we had was so gut wrenching. Bret really wanted to have that reunion with his contemporaries and talk about the glory days and not able to share that with his peers just sucks.

I saw Jim Neidhart years ago at the Golds Gym here in Amarillo! He came in and stuck an UNGODLY amount of weight on a bench press and knocked out 10! He leaned up, threw the towel over his shoulder and said "man that's some pussy shit right there" and walked off! I checked the weights and was STUNNED! It was 500lbs!

Roddy was the only guy to stick his neck out and say "I'm going to make this guy...put me in a singles match and I'll put him over". Sounds quite similar to another Bret Hart Wrestlemania match, which his opponent would become the face of the company after Bret.

Life isn’t fair sometimes. Bret, Owen, Davey, Neidhart, Pillman, Piper, Rude, Curt, and many others who aren’t alive today should be able to sit in a bar/restaurant or at the WWE HOF once a year and drink and have a dinner where they can all hang out and talk about the old days. It’s sad watching all the old PPVs and watching matches where all the guys or some of the guys have passed away.

I met Jim at a doctors office a year before he passed. I saw him and his wife walk in. He went over to the magazine rack. As he started walking over to the seats I said, "Anvil". He looked and walked over with a smile. Didn't really talk about anything interesting considering where we were at, but was cool just to say hi. My wife has helped Nattie at her job before. Aways nice.

Bret gets a lot of credit for his technical ability, and correctly so because he's one of the greatest ever, but I'm not sure he gets the credit for how important he was to the WWE during the early to mid-90's. The WWE could have legit folded in the wake of steroid scandal, a lot of the top guys from the 80's had moved on, and it fell on Bret to carry the company through those years until it found its feet again. Plus without him the Attitude Era would not have happened, or at least it wouldn't have happened in the way that it did.
