Bret Hart was picture perfect for that belt. He was truly a real World's Champion and he always took pride in his work. Regardless of what people may think, Bret Hart will go down as one of the true all time greats.
It's often said that Bret took himself too seriously, but I personally admire that he valued the tag, IC and World titles as much as he did. It's nice to see someone treat the belts with prestige, someone who believes they mean something and should be carried with pride.
I agree with you 💯 percent. Bret taking the titles seriously made them true valued prizes instead of silly trinkets passed from one wrestler to the next wrestler. Bret made every title he held matter because he treated every title he held as if it truly mattered.
Tag champ 1987. Tag champ 1990. Ic champ 1991. Kotr 91. Ic champ 1992. WWF champion 92. Kotr 93. Rumble 94. wwf champ 94. wwf champ 95. wwf champ 97. wwf champ 97.
@@federicosanchez7791 sean mi-coals never wrestled! He was Karate man! Bunch of kicks, superKicks (not rasslin), no submission moves, no figure 4 leg locks, etc. A super kick as a finisher?! What is this Karate Kid III !?
100 percent agree the way he carried himself like a true champion and his wrestling skills were off the charts and his promos in mid 96 began to change for the better
Anyone can be a champion in wrestling but In order for a wrestling title to have any real value, you have to show a desire to want to wear it. Bret was a pioneer for really making the title mean something.
Heart breaking hearing him speak about how great Vince is.. considering what would happen so soon after. As a Bret Hart fan.. what I wouldn't give to go back to this time and warn him of what is to come.
Bret is my all time favorite and you can see in this interview that he has always been honest. Bret’s matches were good because you could see that he was always trying to win. He even gave a candid assessment of other wrestlers even Shawn Michaels. Bret was truly in a league of his own. He was where the attitude era really began, before it dwindled down to shock TV.
Great interview !! Always liked the hitman cause I grew up with him being the top guy in the wwf. Nice seeing ken shamrock and the anvil in the background 😋😃😃
@@MrZombiejoe but wm 13 was supposed to be hbk (c) vs bret II for the belt, a wm 12 rematch where bret goes over, yet not another iron man match. (I always disliked that bret left only 1 wrestlemania as WWE champion (wm X). As 5 time champ he needed to have 2 or 3 WM's as world champ under his "belt". Like wm 10, 11, and 13.
Key guys backstage: 0:29 - Road Warrior Animal (Spitting on the floor) 0:53 - British Bulldog Davey Boy (We will see him a few times in his pink tank top) 1:52 - Headbanger Mosh (with Tag Team Belt, so this was between Sept 7th 1997 to October 5th 1997) 2:54 - ??? 3:50 - Ken Shamrock (Shadow boxing before his match, love it!) 5:09 - Vader (Has a quick chat with Shamrock) 6:35 - Road Warrior Hawk Anyone I forgot? Few guys I could not make out 100%
@@TransformersSlagPodcast true, but isn't that the "Gorilla Position" that we hear so much about? are we witnessing the only sighting of this in the wild?
As per usual with Bret you get an honest and straightforward answer on everything. He gives props to both Austin and Michaels and even admits that Shawn is probably the better athlete. I completely agree with Bret that as a wrestler Shawn cant really hold a candle to Bret's in ring ability. I think Jim Cornette said it best when comparing the 2 of them, he said Bret has had the better matches while Shawn has had the better performances. IMO it's Bret that can have a 5* match with anyone whereas Shawn cant boast that same claim. I also believe Shawn has had more chances or oppurtunities to have those "performances" than Bret was given.
Notice he mentions Steve Austin as being close to his level. He also said in 1996 "I am back and at the Survivor Series I will face the best wrestler in the WWF today, Stone Cold Steve Austin."
Yep. That’s a guy who’s top priority is not himself but what’s best for everybody. And he didn’t say it but Bret Hart is a better wrestler than Stone Cold. Stone Cold is more popular but not as great of a pro wrestler.
@@zodiacz3737 Bret was the better technician, but Austin was arguably greater as a psychologist, seller. Michaels was the more agile, great performer of the three. Regardless they were all brilliant.
@@zodiacz3737 Austin prior his neck injury was one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. If Bret was a 10 out of 10, Austin was a 9.5 out of 10. For Bret to say he is near his level and the best the WWF had at the time speaks volume of how great Austin was, if he wasn't that great Bret wouldn't have wasted his time with him. If you a real fan of u know Bret The Hitman never talked bs.
Yeah and now Canada is in the grip of communist globalist tyrants that want to lock people in their homes for a virus that has a 99% survival rate the plandemic is a excuse for tyranny
Who was that coming down the hall at the end of the interview? Was it Stu Hart? I almoat thought it was would have been really cool to get a few words from him too.
Must have been done sometimes after SS '97, when he beat taker for #5 Championship. Funny hearing him talking about Vince in a positive way, and not really giving WCW much credit. 3 months later.....
canada has single payer healthcare (look it up) which is a far better system than our scam health insurance. and most americans want better gun control. youre clueless
