The prime requirement of a judge is wisdom, demonstrated mainly by a history of wise decisions. Hiding 90% of past history for such a powerful, lifetime position seems extremely reckless. The faults in your legal system are obvious.
4 years old, I realize, but too stupid of a comment not to reply. That 90% number you dutifully repeated, were from his "Staff Secretary" position at the bush ("W") administration. That position supplies no judicial opinions or personal opinions, merely aggregates varying opinions of advice to the president, otherwise known as executive privilege that if made public, no president would be allowed any confidence in his private communication. These kind of rules only apply to democrats and not the lower casted citizens of.opposing views.

I agree whole heartedly. The crux of the problem and the discord is not truly about a difference of opinion on the actual issues. Those differences are not new. I am 43 years old. Since I have been an adult the White House has flipped back and forth between Democrats and Republicans 4 times and I have never seen behavior like this. The difference between those previous administrations and this one? One word, integrity. When the government acts with integrity and respect the people follow suit regardless of party differences. When the government resorts to manipulation, obstruction, bully tactics, and threats to advance an agenda that only serves one party and denies the validity of the rights of 60-70% of the citizens of the country the people also follow that example. This administration is Republican only. Where is the respect for our democracy when the president himself insults and slanders all Democrats, and dismisses their opinions and their rights almost daily? I have never witnessed anything like this. No president or administration prior to this one has ever alienated and slandered more than half of the citizens of the country. He is the President of the United States, this government is supposed to represent every citizen of the United States not the Republicans only. I don't understand what has happened to the GOP, but this is NOT American Democracy. This is rule by the few. If those in the GOP value freedom, and American values, they should understand that it is there hostility and use of force that is causing a divide. This is unprecedented, because it is fascism and force of one parties ideology and will by complete subjugation of the other party's due process rights. This is not democracy and NOT American.

Sounds to me like it was already a done deal. He said that Kavanaugh was going to walk in, they'd officially swear him in as the new Supreme Court member and that would be it. He was acting like what Congress was concerned with, the ability to review documents in the individual's background, was frivolous. BTW, we all know that justice in our system is not fair and equal. Cases are won or lost by attorneys. If you've got enough money you can hire the best attorneys. If you don't have any money you get a court-appointed attorney. Also, our system is not fair to people of color. They are convicted and in jail for longer terms out of proportion to their population percentages. In other words, people of color are convicted and in jail for 80% of the crimes even though they're only 30% of the population.

A lot of the people demanding time to read the documents have already publicly stated they're going to vote against Kavanaugh. For example, Sens. Harris, Sanders, Blumenthal, Schumer, Casey, and Murray are all on record with CNN for already declaring to vote against him.
