How can you not be excited for the future of the conference when you listen to him speak? One thing that the four new schools cannot deny is that the leadership at the top of the conference is so much more advanced and promising than where they just came from. The PAC 12 had prestige and history but the Big 12 has an amazing amount of potential for the future and it's led by one of the best people in the industry.
Great interview with Commissioner Brett Yormark. I appreciate his words about taking the Big 12 to become the number one conference in America. I believe the Big 12 will eventually hit the number one mark if it maintains its current trajectory. I just wish there was a podcast that would talk about the trajectory and the things that are happening within the context of progressing to that number one position. I do have to admit, the background meet and greet between Jimmer Fredette, BYU AD Tom Holmoe, the AD of UCF, and others is quite a distraction because as a viewer, you have to wonder what they are talking about in that circle. Perhaps, we will never know. But, it certainly is intriguing as to what they could be talking about.
Good thing he wants to stay in the Big 12 and take the conference to the top in revenues and competition nationally. He is telling everyone that he likes where he is and does not want to leave.
@@bartbutkis He acknowledges that he has a lot to learn and picks the brains of AD's. That, to me, is humility. You can be supremely confident in yourself at the same time, but I don't think you become that "superstar" without that humility that he does display.
"They're affording me the opportunity to be me"............except "me" needs their approval to be me.......let's not get it twisted Brett, I'm sure plenty of your proposals have been shot down along the way.
I'm guessing you missed the part where he was talking about his relationship with the ADs especially BYU, and that he likes that they challenge him and let him know when they don't agree, and that it makes him better for it. He is just saying they let him explore unconventional ways to better the conference.
@@michcoug OK, regardless of if I mistakenly chose the wrong figure head from the institutions regarding whether he said AD or President, he still said what I said he said. They are still both over the institutions collegiate athletics, but sure flex I used the wrong title even though you were still wrong.
