You don't write songs like that about breaking up with someone, or things ended mutually lol. But, as soon as he becomes a star all of a sudden she's back in the picture. Funny how that works.

I'm sure all the women watching this are so teary eyed with the story. Those of us older men who have lived this and/or seen it played out countless times are more than a little suspicious that Brett's sudden success and big money had a lot to do with her wanting to get back with him.

Wow all these jealous ppl ripping into a girl.. they were on and off for many reasons, not all hers!!! Have you ever had a guy sing a song about you that melts your heart... Guys aren't great with words and feelings. But everyone expresses them differently, for him maybe in a song was easier than telling her to her face how he was feeling. I was just dating a guy and we were pretty serious (HIM more than me was talking serious quickly, met tons of his family within weeks, him and his son stayed over often) He still called things off suddenly because his family talked him into coming home for a full time job because he got too sad over his finances and insecurities. I knew it was always bothering him, i never asked for anything only tried to make him happy. But he still wants time to get his feet on the ground before he can date. Pisses me off because i know he'll miss his son more than anything but he'll be too far away. MORAL OF THE STORY... I have been trying to understand why its been easy for him to leave, because i thought he wanted a future together... we decided we were going to keep talking and his amazing at karaoke.. Well he told me just the other night how he wants to sing the song "Incase you didn't know by Brett Young". Even tho we are apart.... he knows bloody hell that i will read into that, my guy friends say I should. PPL break up even we they are still in love, i've weirdly had a few guys tell me this. So you never know, maybe once HE started getting famous and feeling confident, HE WENT BACK TO HER!!!! OH and lets not forget... most if not all his songs are about her.. if it wasn't for her.. we wouldn't have in case you didn't know, mercy, like I loved you, here tonight etc... So give a girl a break, You don't know who called things off, just because he wrote Mercy & like I loved you.. Don't forget in like I loved you, he says she still wants to be close and be friends... for him that would be too hard, she just wants to see him happy. Mercy it sounds like it was either at the end or the beginning.. he is unsure if she will stay.. WELL SHE STAYED.
