I have this machine and I've only done ice-cream and it did an EXCELLENT job of that. I've made many different flavors, strawberry, banana, butter pecan. All came out delicious. I'm gonna try sorbet this weekend I think. I've had mine for about 8 or 9 years and I don't use it often but it hasn't failed me yet. It is heavy though, so keep that in mind.
All I focused through the video is the material contact with food. Personally I like to spend $100 more on this product if the plastic mixer part inside the bucket can be replaced with a stainless steel one.
totally get where you are coming from. I have much a distaste for plastic, but I think in this case it does not matter. The plastic should last the length of the device, no reason for it to break I think
