the reason you’re not allowed to record any POV without permission is in case the camera were to fall off the ride, and Injure someone below, the park would be responsible. So when there is “third-party” POV recording, the person recording has to sign a waiver saying if anyone was injured by their property is at fault of them and not the park. It’s simple safety that keeps people safe.

I'm actually a ride operator for Millennium Force! Gopros are tricky, especially when people take them out at the last second. The policy for loose articles depends on the article, the specific ride, and the park, but Cedar Point is VERY strict about loose articles and specifically anything that can record video such as gopros or phones. And while it is 100% natural to feel scared on a roller coaster, just keep in mind that they are one of the safest things you can do in your free time and stopping on top of the lift is a normal and safe part of roller coaster operation. These are called lift stops and can either be done on purpose by a ride operator like in this case, or done automatically by the ride's computer system as a safety precaution.

I went to Cedar Point loads of times as a kid. My fav ride, ironically, was the Millennium Force. I also really liked the Demon Drop before it was removed and I really wanted to try the Dragster when it was first built, but never did. Now I'm 30 and hate roller coasters. I'll just settle for a relaxing trip to Mackinac Island now. lol

I loooooved cedar point, fantastic place. The millennium force was absolutely terrifying as were all the rollercoasters. I'm also completely petrified by heights and I swear I almost had a heart attack many times. Also while going on the millennium force me and my cousin sang the star spangled banner all the way up and everyone started to laugh and joined in. On the way down no one could scream, we all just sat there with our mouths open.

I don't think I've been to Cedar Point since like 1992 or 93 but the big ride there at that time was "The Magnum" and that thing would get stuck multiple times a day. A friend and I got stock at the top of the first hill. Fun times. I think most of what I remember are now gone- Iron Dragon, Demon Drop, Mean Streak.

This episode was my favorite so far.
