I would definitely make sure you give warning lights on the facebook transaction board; it’s the seller’s responsibility to disclose any flaws, especially if they’re that bad! And probably could be considered false advertising if they were listed as NIB and absolutely were not NIB

Never get them unboxed if they are boxed always regretted it. I bought breyer deer family and the antlers were broken.

Something similar happened to me this Christmas. I was gifted my beloved weather girl model Sunny but it was SO poorly packed (like litterally having a journal paper and few kitchen papers "folding" it) and sitting in a box which size was smaller than the model's itself. This caused the tail to snap and now I've NO idea how to properly fix it. You're wondering if I contacted the seller, right? Well I did and she totally ghosted me. Keep attention out there, some people really have no respect sometimes.

I get nervous buying/trading from people. I traded two models for one limited edition model (worth around $60). I traded a NIB American Pharoah and another horse that was out of box but essentially flawless, (which I washed with warm water and soap) and packaged them so nicely. Did priority shipping. She had them in like 2 days. Then it took a week for me to get my model, the box was obviously used before, which I don't mind but it was lacking in some structural integrity (part of the box was missing the top layer of cardboard), and the model had way more flaws than the person told me and didn't show in pictures. And the model was gross. Like dust, and maybe even food? Idk. I was upset. Then a few weeks later I saw her selling one of the models I traded her which really upset me, because I felt that they were still benefiting from my side of the trade when I got jipped. I still gave greens on the transaction board because I felt like it was my fault for not asking more questions but I kinda wish I hadn't.

I'm not a collector though have had Breyers starting back in the late 60s. Those were my regular toys back then and are long gone with broken legs, ears and scratched bodies. Still fond memories though. I occasionally buy 1-3 models every 5-10 years now. But this year it being the 70th anniversary of Breyer and probably the last time I will but any of them for me so I decided to buy up to 10-12 of them. Some new like the 70th anniversary appaloosa Indian pony and some used with no boxes on EBay. Seems to me keeping the new box is more of a plus then not when it comes to selling them like on EBay too as well as storing or shipping them. Bought 4 new from Amazon for same price or a little more then from the Breyer store directly but half of those 4 sent through Amazon had partially crushed or plastic box broken. If those sellers on Amazon were that careless I wonder how much my new models would of been damaged without a box they came in.

I find it frustrating when a seller goes back on their word after leaving you hanging as to if they still want to follow through on a deal . Had 2 do that so far so it's not all about new in box or not . If one has to chase down an answer on a sale or trade that person is not honest enough to continue with the deal . Just lost a buy on a model that the seller never told me they didn't accept a certain type of payment had me thinking it was ok , only to come back 2weeks later to say model no longer available but it's still here . Even the buyer can get cheated before they even pay . Treat people how you would want to be treated. I practice being kind and fair . Keep my word .

@@maskeddragonfire8875 On dark colored horses you just have to rub very gently and keep a close eye on paint by frequently rinsing.But it's incredible for white models.

Just had this happen with my Alborozo I bought. OUT of all models, why'd it have to happen to him?! 😭 Luckily, he was suprisingly okay minus some hoof rubs that can't be seen. Thank goodness.

If it’s not NEW IN BOX it’s not NIB. new in box does not mean you put them in the box. New in box means you didn’t take it out of box when you got it

I had a Starlett arrive in terrible condition that the seller had covered up the damage in the photos via careful filter use... At least the seller had priced down from going rate for her, but it was pretty terrible, and the whole horse was sticky! I am still working on restoration here and there on her, but at least I didn't drop a huge amount... And even my NIB Huckleberry Bey that I got late last year had rubs from his box back, and the fact that they were put in with the old zip ties. Thankfully easily fixed. But yeah, frustrating. I now refuse to buy anything from an add with blurry or obviously filtered photos.

id definitely be leaving at minimum yellows (id personally leave reds, but some may say yellows are fine) for that huck bay transaction. Yes, you shouldve asked for more photos (and people will probably hark on that) but she very clearly was trying to scam people. Advertising them as NIB and not disclosing any problems is a huge red flag on her practices as a seller. And even if you did ask for more photos, she mayve tried to only take pics of them in box, since she even admitted to putting them in boxes for that ad, which wouldnt be fair.

That’s why you always ask for additional photos and check their previous transactions ! Most good sellers will have quotes and examples of previous sales and show the buyers review
