@@johnnyboccuzzi5404fall for what? He’s failed since 2009. He should’ve been fired years and years ago. It’s a joke that 15 years later he still has a job here.
Spot on. The players Brian Csshman got in trader deadline doesn’t move the needle to a championship. Cashman wasn’t all in, Jazz Chisholm, Mark Leiter Jr. Enyel De Los Santos and RHP Kelly Austin. Why didn’t Cashman get the closer from Miami Tanner Scott as set-up man for Clay Homes or reliever Carlos Estévez from the Angels, to bolster the Yankees bullpen? This acquisitions don’t move the needle to a championship, but possibly a disappointing 2024 season again
Of course teams ask for those players. All teams do that including the precious Yankees . Being hyped about Dominguez is understandable but he’s still gotta prove he can play at the level everyone expects him to especially since most fans didn’t know his name a year ago. And Spencer Jones, if he’s so good then how does he not get a call up considering some of those lineups they were trotting out? He’s like 4 years older then Dominguez
@@bg_7_7 He's played less than 60 games at the MLB level. He's the starting CF or RF when Soto leaves. Jones and Peraza are taking over when DJ and Torres are gone too.
You guys are wrong.. he is a Hall of Fame general manager.. he has 5 rings.. no other general manager is even close to that.. he also drafted and developed the closed thing we have seen since bonds in Aaron Judge.. Yes, they have not won since 09 but they are contending every single year.
You think they were great a week ago? And the week before that ? And the month before that? I know it’s a marathon but that’s not what I just asked so don’t give me a Cashman answer
@@bg_7_7 Of course. Look at them. They're one of the best, if not the best team in baseball this year - first by far in run differential and third in winning percentage - all while being the most injured team in the sport (60% of their roster!) - and great players are fortifying and returning to their lineup. You know this, right? Of course, you don't, because you're depressed and listening to this doofus who makes money by triggering your negativity clicks. Walk away and watch the games. I'm watching and following the New York Yankees and cheering, while you're listening to this soulless doofus bottom scraper, getting angry and whining. Snap out of it.
@jw7665 he has 5 rings and 2 losing seasons in 26 years.. He drafted and developed the closest thing we have seen to Bonds in Aaron Judge. They are currently tied for first place right now as we type... your being fickle, try to look at the whole picture
@@kyle2441 Now I know you have no idea what you're talking about. 5 rings? He inherited the team in 98, those teams were already stacked for him. The only ring he got with a team he actually built was in 09, after spending a quarter of a billion. And Judge? The Yankees training staff were so bad that Judge famously got outside help to fix his swing, this is widely known and it's crazy that you don't know that lmfao
Girardi was a God awful manager. he had some of the best talent in his 10 years and only won 1 ring. He also publicly called out Gary Sanchez which is definitely a way to get someone fired.
When have the Yankees had a realistic chance of winning a World Series with their constantly flawed rosters created by Cashman. The Starting pitching is no good, awful over the past 6 -7 weeks, the bullpen is not great, and we do not have a viable closer. Oh No, Holmes just blew another save in his sleep.
Mets took over new York baseball in every way possible from the owners to the gm to the managers and players Mets are just the better organization now crazy.
Really? Love how the Yankees live rent free in the minds of delusional Met fans. But hey, at least no one is choking out their teammates in the dugout tunnel.
@@Schwizzzz are you a Yankees fan? Because I would be embarrassed to be a Yankees fan with the way Cashman handle themself during this interview pretty sad.
For a man whose team isn’t continuously humiliated in the playoffs, Cashman never speaks to what he has learned from it. The Yankees are simply not a first class organization in MLB.
@@daboiwonder212 Cashman’s time is long past. 15 seasons without a championship. Nobody deserves that much job security. Especially someone that consistently wastes the resources the Yankees give him.
@@ChocolateMilk1978 if it about championship 🏆 or bust then definitely but it definitely difficult to win every year and the Yankees have and I love it that NY is represented well
The great bs is we have a good team your 2b is the worst in the game your left can’t hit and btw is blocking you from bringing your best prospect up your bullpen is trash and you trade a good young arm for a over 4 ERA relief pitcher basically you failed in improving the team and whoever thinks different is a sucker this team is not a championship caliber team
Reading under the lines, sounds like Cashman botched the Jack Flaherty deal because his ego got in the way, sounds like he was waiting for the Tigers to call “him” back, and he’s padding it as miscommunication.
Seller's market. Not much he could have done. Are you seriously going to give up a combo of Jones, Dominguez, Hampton, Warren, and/or Arias + other lower level prospects for 2 months of Tanner Scott, Carlos Estevez or Jason Adam? Would you not at least tried to renegotiate with a team if there is an injury concern like there might have been with Flaherty?
None of the overhyped prospects he’s dealt have amounted to anything. You are so sure of the guys you named? Where was Spencer Jones when they were trotting out those brutal lineups? He’s like 24 and can’t crack a lineup with JD Davis hitting cleanup?
He traded for Stanton and gave that contract to DJ. Of course if guys play well it should make the team better but do you think the Yankees are the only team with guys whose salary doesn’t match their production? We’ve been hearing about oh if Stanton was healthy our lineup is so great since he got here. This isn’t his first day.
i'm done with Gleyber move on from him he makes defensive errors and he's up and down with the bat. and i know he'll ask for a lot of cash for a guy that does not impact winning compared to other stars that are better is he worth it no.
Ha. He was gone anyway. Let’s pump the brakes on the Jazz hall of fame induction too. Nobody ever saw gleybor get hot before ? Or any other player for that matter? Remember when Volpe was the best shortstop in baseball? Simmer
Cashman said that DJ in 2019 is comparable to this season of Juan Soto. He also mentioned they are flexible and can find someone to do what Soto is doing…. What a joke
Cashman BS, the Yankees have weaknesses. Here’s the list Nector Cortes, Gerrit Cole, getting snack around by the Mets . Carlos Radon hasn’t pitching good prior to Bosox win etc.
THe min i saw that Torres was not being moved... i knew we were screwed. We needed a 3b (and no not JAzz at 3rd). We needed a closer. We needed BP help. We needed a starter. Now ya see the BS going on with Cole. THis team if the s**t hits the fan in a bad way is going to be in trouble. Playoffs, i can see. WS, i doubt it. This team did NOT make the moves needed to repair the issues at hand. Simple as that. Keep dreaming fellow Yank fans, but the reality is here and we didnt do what we needed to do. If we fall apart in the playoffs (kiss Soto goodbye). We didnt make moves that showed how important of the situation we were in. We didnt. Facts. sadly this is the future of the Yanks now. We are making excuses for Torres lack of hustle and seemingly giving a shit.
@@PaulGordon-t6s What's the alternative? The kid's a defensive whiz and has at least an average bat that fits better at the bottom of the order and is cost effective. You're not getting and developing all stars everywhere.
Ok. But he said he won the job last year. 600 at bats and hit 209. And is good with the glove but that’s what a shortstop is supposed to be. And that gold glove was a sham . Get real and try to not be a homer and realize Bobby Witt should have won that. If the concern was to put out the best possible team and taking salary and everything else as part of it you’re telling me that that was the best option at shortstop?
Same way he bullshitted around the hicks and Joey gallo question. There was really no better option?!?!?!?!?!? If he really believes that than that’s a problem, no? I thought it’s the Yankees and the Steinbrenner family is so obsessed with winning. That’s what he said
He can't say that publicly, that they have weaknesses. The players in that clubhouse have to perform. I said that 3 weeks ago, no trades. Go with this roster . Trades mostly never work out. I want to see what this core of players can do under pressure.
The players Brian Csshman got in trader deadline doesn’t move the needle to a championship. Cashman wasn’t all in, more of his BS. Jazz Chisholm, Mark Leiter Jr.
Cash just spewed a bunch of garbage how could you say this year there's not added pressure with Judge and Soto together. Soto is in his walk year if you don't get it done now with 2 superstar players when will you get it done. and i feel more could have done at this deadline sure no real superstars were moved but you could have added a starter. then cash says we don't have weaknesses really 1 lefty in the BP really a rotation that has struggled for a month really bro stop lying be honest with fans.
Would you have given up the prospect haul for Crochet or Snell? What if there is an injury concern with Flaherty? And what is he not being honest about? Is he supposed to throw his team, himself and his staff under the bus? Its attitudes like this that make me I wish the Yankees front office would take a page from the Knicks front office and not speak to the media period.
@@johnnyboccuzzi5404 all i'm saying we could have done more and i get the market wasn't as sexy compared to past deadlines but more needed to be done. and i understand there's only so much you can do with what you have in front of you that's all i'm saying.
@@PapitoLou hill was reject from whitesox and padres who sucks too with 5 era and gets hit. Just put Cortes in bullpen. Cashman doesnt know what fuck he is doing. All Cashman says "its a tough game" blah blah. Torres just isn't good. Stop allowing these guys to get away with this. Hell of a bat? Hes having the worst year of his career. It's inexcusable.

Brian is the most overpaid and overrated GM in baseball. The Yankees make the most money, Hal is happy with that and relies on Brian for that. While they are always trying in their mind to win a WS, are they working at it as if their jobs were on the line? For all teh reasons I've already mentioned, no they do not try hard enough. Brian is never say die, and will always say he did everything right whether or not they even make the playoffs. If Hal held the GM position to the same standard every other position in that organization is held to (outside the Front Office) that whole FO would have been swept 2x by now. First when they missed the playoffs in the teens, and again when Boone turned out to clearly not be as good with the team as Girardi. And a third if you count missing the playoffs last year. But listening to his answer to that question makes me want to burn my Yankee gear. this man brings great players to NY to underperform and/or choke. He did not build the dynasty, he did not lead those teams, and since he has had full reign he has done nothing except make money. Many players fear going to the Yankees these days because they see guys do badly there where they do better as soon as they leave. The NY Yankees have a leadership problem, and that starts with Front Office. Cashman always has a team that on paper can win it all. He just never does, and he is living off a fake rep. Bob Watson built the dynasty, and Torre managed them masterfully. Brian was a voice in the room, and that's all he was.
The biggest thing is if soto walks the Yankees are really gambling on Dominguez. Yes the upside is high yes he’s young but it appears he’s also getting injured ALOT recently. Say what you want but Juan soto is out there DAY AFTEE DAY AFTER DAY. Perfect scenario is we resign him and have Dominguez/verdugo but yanks have a lot of work ahead with negotiations in the off-season
Well as a Red Sox fan you should give him AL exec of year. Since under him...Red Sox have dominated the Yanx including a historic collapse in 2004 So your comment is worth shit
So embarrassing to see the impressively, almost impossibly brilliant Cashman, who keeps on getting smarter by the day, getting insulted by this proud doofus, who doesn't get it, doesn't care, and continues to drive further downward into his negative algorithm.
@@SeanWood117 whoopty do da. My expectations are a little higher than just a winning season. Especially with the payroll being what it is and has been. Cashman has failed miserably with many of his acquisitions since 2009. And passing up on the likes of Bryce Harper is inexcusable.
I'm a Sox fan....and Yankee fans crying about this man is comical to me. Dudes crying about a team that wins (for the most part) 93-94 games a year, have Soto and judge and Cole, top 5 payroll.....and still cry. You bozos gotta realize....it's not 1998. There are 10 teams who spend or can spend as much as you can. There is ZERO GUARANTEE of winning a world series. For Christ sake , stop with the corny fake outrage and crying. Bozo behavior
Mr. Sox fan..you forgot your 4 championships including 2004 historic comeback while Cashman was our GM. So your credibility on our GM situation is shit
