I honestly think that a lot of this comes down to the ownership wanting to play Daniel Jones. I don’t see a coach like Daboll honestly thinking he’s the solution to the problem. Because everybody knows he’s not the solution to the problem if anything he is the problem.

I think that Mara, Schoen, and Daboll have all agreed that DJ starts until the bye. After that, if the losing continues, the injury clause of DJ's contract takes priority and he gets benched.

I loath watching my team now and would love to see them remove Daboll and bench Jones. I would rather see them give the young kid Devito a chance than to keep up this spectacle. I liked what I saw when he played and with some experience, they could have a decent QB. With Jones, we do not even have a chance.

Pass Blocking was miserable last night. Dline was gashed most of the game. Too many penalties. Dropped passes. Bad play calls. Lousy defensive backs. Of course we got the inevitable turn over from Daniel at the worst time. Other than that, we played ok.

These past 10-12 years have been more painful than the period between Phil Simm’s retirement and Kerry Collins’ free agent signing. (For what that’s worth, Collins was a real starter when compared to the stable of incompetents prior to him, and he took the team to the Super Bowl.) BTW… Jones got dumped head first onto the turf last night. We need to absolutely bench him, otherwise we’ll be stuck with him next season if he gets injured.

@ Without a doubt. I was a big fan of his. Collins had many big games for us, and that 2000 NFC Championship blanking of the Vikings (40-0) was surreal.
I thought he benched DeVito too fast last year, especially after one of his last passes was a perfect pass to Darren Waller in stride over the middle that should have been a TD.
DJ does give us the best chance to win in the future. He doesn’t get hurt last year and we get a QB. Let him play so we can get a top 3 draft pick without having to trade up and reach for a qb.

Honestly, I am a die hard Giants fan and have been since I was playing football in my youth thanks to the Great LT. This year though, I find myself pulling for the Commanders more than my beloved Giants. Thanks alot John Mara! You and your organization are a JOKE right now.

Couple of things: 1. Although he is doing well now, I am not entirely convinced Mr. Unlimited would have succeeded in NY considering how bad he was mentally in DENVER 2. tbf to Daboll on picking a QB, in hard knocks he said he would trade up for Jayden Daniels, which would've been a homerun
The guy I feel bad for in all this is Tommy Devito. Because they obviously selected him to stay on at #3 knowing that they couldn't even be confident to have him at #2. But what gets me is, they know Danny ain't it, they know Drew ain't it either. But knowing all this, & yet the front office is wasting his time when he ould be looking at other places. I just don't get the idiocy behind Brian's stupidity. Maybe it's Joe enforcing it on him, I don't know! But, I have to believe there's got to be a valid reason Brian is choosing failure over team, & I think it's Joe trying to ensure the organization gets screwed over so that Danny gets paid. Because let's face it, he ain't gonna be another team's #1 guy! And I think that's why! Honestly, it's not enough to say whether you want to bench DJ or not. There needs to be a reason behind it, what are you trying to accomplish? As far as I'm concerned, every loss gets us closer to ending the DJ era and replacing him with a top prospect. So if you are benching DJ in an attempt to win games, I completely disagree. If you are benching DJ to avoid him getting hurt and us getting stuck with his injury guarantees next year, I can agree with that thinking.
Keeping Jones as the starter with the Giants continuing to lose the rest of the season is exactly where you want to be in the race for the #1 pick in 2025. This is the blind tank job.
I say we keep Brian Dable because Daniel Jones was given to him and was told to make it work basically from up top I believe if he got the quarterback of his choice you’d be seeing a different tune
I believe Daboll’s continuing support of Jones is to use him as a scapegoat, deflection and as “cover” to mask Daboll’s own shortcomings as a head coach.The Giants week after week are unprepared to compete in the NFL. Poor game decisions, endless stupid penalties, bad personnel decisions ( remember no kicker for Washington game) etc. all falls on Daboll’s lap. Shoen and Daboll are both “rookies” in their roles and it shows ( Hard Knocks also showed their amateur skills IMO). Jones, Daboll and Shoen all must go and Mara has to stop hiring/elevating “wannabes” and finally hire an experienced, proven GM and HC…..and yes, before we draft a QB.
Why are they so committed to Daniel Jones? Especially with the injury clause in his contract. Makes no sense. He’s lost the team and the season. Get rid of the defensive coordinator. That defense was a joke last night. He had everyone playing 7-8 yards off the receivers. Easy pitch and catch. Also even with that cushion they still let up over 25 plays of 17 yards. That's ridiculous

I said it last season. Daboll is over his head as a Head Coach. This team is badly coached, undisciplined and lacks luster. He will get a new QB next season and the team will improve a little but Daboll will continue to be outcoached. It will take Mara two more seasons before he realizes that and fire him.
