This is a clip from a longer interview from the 90s BBC show "Going Live!", Where presenter Sarah Greene interviews Brian Henson, son of the legendary puppeteer Jim Henson, about the amazing animatronic puppets used in the 1991 film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze" as well as other Henson projects that were going on around the time. Brian, who was the film's puppet coordinator in TMNT 2, explains how the turtles' facial expressions and movements were controlled by a team of puppeteers using sophisticated remote controls. This is a must-see clip for any fan of the Ninja Turtles or practical effects in film. Don't miss it!

With technology now, the turtle puppets would become suits. More light,more durable, everything! They should bring back the Henson turtles.

On the studioADI channel, they showed clips how a cyclops head from a Percy Jackson movie was puppeted. They had the entire face performance preprogrammed using computers to the voices, so they would be consistent with each take. The innovations they have created the past 3 years are impressive.

There's 2 brothers working on a new live movie earlier stages but very curious how they'll look once they're all done. Its a separate project from the aninated kiddy movie hitting later this year. Very excited to hear more about it.

@MKF30 yeah from what i hear those guys are really bringing their A-game and making something really special for us. I'm stoked to hear more myself. Its been a long time since we've had a dark and gritty TMNT more adult-friendly... its crazy it has taken this long considering the source material

And the original voice actors from the first film, especially Josh Pais for Raph, who was sorely missed in 2 and 3. Adam Carl didn't hold a candle to Feldman as Donnie but Cory was in rehab during filming for 2.

@@RMH857 Josh Pais is my favorite! I’m slowly working on plans for a Raphael short film. Doing it cg because I don’t have the expertise or money for animatronics haha. But what a treat it would be to get him to voice the character again.

Josh has several interviews on RU-vid discussing his experience with Raph including how he created that badass walk, gestures, accent, to suffering from claustrophobia being in the suit. Check out Ivy's cowabunga corner on RU-vid. Biggest known TMNT. She interviewed everyone possible. I wont spoil it for ya but she's got some serious gold!

Never seen this before! I would've lost it if I got that ladies opportunity to control one of the turtles heads, preferably Raph, my fav!😁 Dang Mr. Henson, you and the crew were needed badly for 3 along with many other changes.

I've seen the original animatronic masks for the original film, back in 1990 at a Jim Henson exhibit in London, along with the original baby turtles they used for the flashback origin sequence. Amazing experience.

I think they shouldn’t have a live action movie. The suits for these movies during the 90s were groundbreaking and just fit in with the production quality of movies back then which made the suits all that more impressive. Today, people would be like “lol why did they use Disney robots?”

They really need to go back to the original turtles movies from the 1990s with the Jim Henson puppets. Yes you can still use CGI budge try to go as practical as possible. Especially with the turtle suits.
