@@neilwhitaker6284 You're a lucky guy. Yeah, we have lots of local rock bands here who primarily sing in urdu, punjabi and pashto. Grew up listening to them, along with american and british rock groups like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, the Doors, Credence clearwater, bon jovi etc.
that is beautiful! No going back now. Check out the band "L'Epee". The guitarist from BJM Anton Newcombe plays with them. Other members of that band are from a French band called "The Liminanas". You will love it all I promise you and I don't make promises much. Matt Hollywood the guy second from left in the picture of the band above has a band called "Matt Hollywood and the (edit) Bad Feelings", also "The Rebel Drones" and "The Out Crowd". You will love all these too. I get excited when people discover Brian Jonestown Massacre its like you've discovered something special ha!

There are many more bands to discover in neo psychedelic/ psych rock genre if you love BJM . Black Angles , Black Market Karma, Bad Liquor Pond, The Triptides , Wooden Shijps , The Warlocks , Dream Syndicate, War on drugs and many more
Brian Jonestown Massacre has two problems that make them far less well known in the US than they should be: 1) they know how to play their instruments and 2) their lyrics are not stupid.
@@tonybates7870 Because questionable musicanship and empty lyrics are in the highest of demand right now. Otherwise, BJM would be much better known because they don't fit that model.
I seriously dont get how brian jonestown can be this good. This is what rock music is supposed to be about, really don't know how the genre lost its way so much.
I saw an ad for this band in San Francisco in the summer of '96. It had a picture of Mr Jones and said, "I may be dead, but I know a good band when I hear one" or thereabouts.
What hood did you see it in? I would presume somewhere in the Haight, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t either. Last time I was in the City myself, I had a playlist of BJM playing while throwing a round of disc golf in Golden Gate Park. It was right around when I first heard of them as well, so that made it quite new, groovy and magical. Every single person who caught up with me asked who it was, and I even got a compliment for having good taste. It was a wonderful day, and I cherish those.
Some bands may not rule the charts but have a very strong impact- Velvet Underground, Love , Television, The Feelies, Dream Academy , Jesus &Mary Chain, Jane's Addiction , Quick Silver Messenger and so on. BJM is the ultimate cult band in psychedelia.
Or perhaps blessed? I'm feeling your madness. I was late to this party, but now that I've crashed it, I can't get enough of the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Back in 2005 I was listening to this on a CD player with my mom in the passenger seat. So I said “Hey Ma whaddya think about this classic rock I found?” She says “This is from the 60’s right? It’s really good. How come I never heard this? She couldn’t believe it was from the 90’s.
This band doesn't put out a bad tune ever. Not one I can hear so far is. Amazing. Genius. I'm a recent convert by the way. It's all about the groove Daddy O. Rock on y'all.
I saw them in Ravenna last year in italy and it was amazing. They deserved a better place to play but it was still cool. In this little bar with a stage and everything. I mean is still a good place for a concert. I will always remember it, my grandpa died that night and i had the call from my mom while i was at the concert... i felt this concert into my bones and bjm always have a spot in my heart.
Well, I am high , higher than what we normally use around office work. But uh, I'm okay. I 'm going thru another phase of my life, listening to these guys when high really helps me,
Dez anos e continua melhor que tudo.... Fantástico e maravilhoso. . Merece um lugar no hall da fama do rock n roll. This song to makes my soul screamings.. And my mind flies... Thanks from Brasil..
If anyone is still wondering, this version was released on a 2006 various artists compilation - Live at WVFS. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EhLx1xZHwGQ.html
to me A is the most influential musical artist of our days .. he chose to avoid the horrible grabbing music industry and created his own record company A recordings and now Tepid Peppermint Wonderland Ltd
I break it down again for love I sing the songs you've been dreaming of And maybe now you'll hear what I'm saying Up all night while you're keeping me waiting You live your life like it's just begun You saw and fear it, now it's on the run And maybe love's no good for the taking Waiting in vain while you keeping me waiting You're so, high You're so, high You're so, high Why can't you fly? You live your life like it's just begun You say your threats and now it's on the run And maybe love's no good for the taking Waiting in vain while you keeping me waiting I break it down again for love I sing these words you've been dreaming of And maybe now you'll hear what I'm saying Waiting man while you're keeping me waiting You're so, high You're so, high You're so, high Why can't you fly?
see them live. awesome. same intensity this number has but for 2 hours of dancing your ass off. always listen to the END. the outro bit of BJM songs are usually better than the classic intros. I'm hiring them for my wake! My favourite band.
It's not on a studio album, it's only on "The Singles Collection: 1992-2011". I could be wrong though. I just realized the other day this wasn't in the discog of BJM and this is one of my all time favorites from them.
Damn I love this version. I think this one is better than the one they released on Bravery, Repetition and Noise. I always liked this song but thought it kind of dragged. This version rocks!
Holy Cannoli's, man....Anton- BJM- Anton&Tess....Just Recently picked up on this Dyn-o-Mite musical action. Have not felt this way about an artist(s)/music in a Very.......Long.......Time..... Lord Help me. RB musicmaker/fan/columnist/a-hole/deceasedand retiredfromTheScene. L.A.M.F. !!!
i remember the day Brian Jones died ,found dead in a swimming pool ,it was a sad day ,a great talent gone ,and there have been so many since RIP Brian ,you were a tortured soul .
Good New year Man.... Love is the Best drug... Peace and love love love love love love ... Thanks from Brasil Man..... RIP Brian Jones. RIP ALL.....drops the bombs in heaven....
BJM is so under known. I've stopped being surprised when people haven't heard of them, or only just recognize the name, not the music. Anton putting gold on wax for almost 30 years now with no sign of slowing down.
i don't want people to know who A is, it's our little secret so they can go listen to urban/R&B if they want, good luck to 'em, hope they're happy, but WE got genius onboard.. beat that! ;-)
@@mikenorledge4110 I kind of feel like that's a childish attitude and semi-destructive to the cause, but you're right. Nothing's worse than great music falling on deaf ears.
je n'avais pas fait le lien - c'est en voyant la photo ci dessus de Brian Jones ex Rolling Stones qui a eu une fin malheureuse en 1969 au fond d'une piscine si mes souvenirs sont bons.Long life to Brian Jonestown Massacre - Greetings from Bordeaux
13 de março de 2021.... estamos vivos ouvindo os mortos. ...lá fora está foda. ...im soo High. ..RIP man. ..Brian Jones é o pai dos Stones. ....the father of all. ...thanks from Brasil. ..
I discovered them when I was 16 or 17 I'll be 39 this October and I still absolutely adore this group, Anton is a genius. Check out the documentery Dig about them and the dandy warhols. I don't like the dandy warhols at all but the two bands were peers the way they saw it or rivals maybe lol
that's probably the organ; hammond really saved a lot of keyboardists. I think Steve Winwood basically becomes famous at 14 because of Hammond's electric organ.
