Recorded: May 8th 2024 | In this bonus pod episode, the guys sit down the other half of Florida Georgia Line, Brian Kelley. Brian had listened to and seen some clips of our episode with his ex-bandmate Tyler Hubbard and wanted to come on the pod to clear some things up. I can assure you that the overwhelming majority of us would be able to sit down at the dinner table, enjoy fantastic conversation, and generally agree on most things if we had the chance. Obviously, there are outliers on both sides that would shit at this proverbial table, but in general, if we could remove all the emotion and hate that has been spoon-fed to us, we could and would all see a very similar future for the country and ourselves.. . Hopefully, one day, we can get back to being a country of love and prosperity... All this hate and divisiveness has done nothing but tear us down.

They did fight over Trump. Tim McGraw did a song with Tyler about not being divided, addressing the chaos and division going on. They had differences of opinion. Tyler is known for being a good guy. A stand up guy. A guy who is a big time writer, and the voice we all here in FGL. Part of the disagreements were because Tyler was thinking of his children, and what he thinks about their future. BK is known for being the opposite kinda guy. They have no kids, and his stuff is still in a different place. One way or another, it boiled down to differences of opinions abd direction. Tyler still sounds the same as always, and still pumping out songs. It does seem that BK is not seeing the success he thought he'd have on his own, and other artists have been more supportive to Tyler, business is as usual, whereas not so with BK. Tyler being the writer and voice, he was able to restart and climb right back up. You can't blame him for his success, and if you liked FGL, than you like Tyler, and can't disregard him. If you want to support BK and see what he is able to accomplish, sounds good, but you can't discount Tyler and his songs (regardless of additional people being added on a song), if you're a fan of FGL.

I've done security work and personal bodyguard work for FGL, and with my experience dealing with FGL and listening to other security personnel talking, Tyler wasn't the friendliest person to deal with and his wife was a complete b!tch and caused problems but BK was cool and down to earth. He would shake our hands, thank us and talk with us. There was always an inside joke that they weren't going to stay together. They are night and day as personalities. I really hope BK has a successful solo career.

Thanks for sharing this inside info. From the start of what I was hearing, I was already leaning towards BK. In the videos I've seen, TH seems so prideful. Betcha BK's wife is a b*tch. Is she a lot older than him? I'm not a FGL fan but I recall seeing a wedding photo. Maybe, I'm thinking of Dan & Shay or whoever. It's apparent that TH is all about the industry.

You can tell BK was the one hurt in this. How quickly TH released a solo album shows he already had it in his back pocket ready to go before BK was even ready. Tinfoil hat time it was probably all fueled by the record lable because TH music was/is more radio market music, and BK has more of a beach/ 90's country vibe, which is less marketable on the radio.

I will miss FGL, but after the fallout, I'm loving hearing BK's voice clearly, front and center! Even Kix Brooks sang lead vocals on a released Brooks and Dunn song...but they wouldn't do it for BK. "Doing it all" (solo & together) is an incredible idea. After reading comments, it's apparent people still want to hear FGL. Why not perform solo material too. Never been a big FGL fan but I became interested in this story. Everyone needs to hear both sides of anything to have an opinion. @ 21:31 wow, IMO Tyler should've handled that privately. He knows how people are on the Internet looking for any tiny drop of drama. Everything Brian has said can be backed up. He's sharing facts not drama. For me, coming from an unaware & unbiased opinion & now being able to hear both sides, I'm definitely riding with BK. I stand for everything he stands for. My Dad was also a Deputy Sheriff & we fly the Red, White & Blue proudly in our front yard. We're a blue collar family. TH seems to be more industry oriented & associated with that crowd. Do as I say or you won't have a say! @ 58:08 heck yeah, Brian. Your folks did a great job raising you. I'm actually going to take the time to listen to the entire album. I also like songwriters. For as long as I can remember, I'd always look to see who the writers were of a song. That started to fade in the 2000's when Music Row exploded with songwriters for rent. Tyler said no but then does a collaboration with Tim McGraw for Biden inauguration a short time after ? Weird. It’s understandable for Brian to feel slighted. Why was Tyler so unreasonable? Then Tyler unfollowed BK because he’s a Trump supporter. He doesn’t sound like a good friend. I think Tyler thinks he was the star of FGL and has a big ego. Hes been untruthful about the reasons for the split to sound likes he’s innocent in it and a nice guy. I don’t think he is and he and his wife went Hollywood. I feel like when there's a band or duo who decides they want to go solo, one or all of the remaining members are either painted in a negative light or the person wanting to go solo is. I'm not exactly sure if this is a tactic to get the solo artist more sympathy fans but as a fan of FGL, I feel like if they both want to go solo then I can respect that, what I cannot respect is the lying or malicious ulterior motive towards gaining a larger following/fandom by lying. If what Brian is saying is true then Tyler needs to publicly apologize. It will ultimately affect Brian's career otherwise. This breaks my heart 💔

The band Hanson has done a really good job of allowing each brother to have solo freedom while never breaking up the band, and they've been consistently releasing music since 1997. Their last album, Red Green Blue, was basically a compilation of 3 EPs where they each made their own music.

It is interesting that BK reminded several times that he was a member of FGL too. It seems like Tyler Hubbard thought he was the main character in FGL and BK was his back up. It really shows a lot about Tyler Hubbard's character with the fact he is gas lighting people into thinking the end of FGL was due to BK wanting to make solo content. BK's music is way more country sounding, and we should all support him to send a message.

I love FGL and think it is okay for artists to do some solo work as well. Some songs are just better with a duo. It is sad that Tyler had to split like that. I didn't know BK had an album out. I have to check it out. Knowing that Tyler played in the Biden inauguration says it all. I will switch off Morgan Wallen a bit more bc I need to hear some BK. Great bussin!

ngl I kind of hate FGL and the trend they created in country music but I did prefer BK out of the two of them. This sort of affirms that, hubb did him kind of dirty, saying one thing and then doing another. Also pushing away your "brother" for having differing views on politics is nuts. I wouldn't have a single friend if i did that

Some of Tom Petty's best music was on his solo albums. Dave Matthews made a solo album too. People just tend to forget because they always played it as a band. BK's idea could have easily worked without blowing it all up.

I ain’t taking sides, I’m glad to hear BK’s side and it holds a lot of merit. Looking at the bigger picture, neither seems to be the entire sole reason for separation. The big concern seems to be around the time when Tyler unfollowed and said he likes BK better in person than online. If those differences get settled, FGL will perform together again. It still may be years to come yet, but I’m sure it will happen eventually.
