@@erind2261 wow. I understand completely. I saw my sperm donor for the 2nd time at 28yo. First time I was 11yo. He was married and according to many a great stepdad. He never raised me but knew where I was for my entire life. His family expected me to act as if I always knew him and start chasing, praising him, and kissing his ass. He wanted me to prove that I was worth his time He never wanted a relationship with me because he was paranoid about retaliation from him not being around. He made it seem to his family that I was the reason we didn't have a relationship. He wasn't willing to even meet me halfway. He passed away 7yrs ago. I hope that your father is at least putting in some effort to get to know you and meet you halfway. Not just saying the cliche BS he thinks you want to hear because actions speak louder than words. You really don't owe him anything. He is lucky that you have a forgiving heart. I hope that you get to form a nice positive relationship with your father if that's what you both want. Bless you!

Lol, no it doesn't. There are mothers in family court every day who would fight for the money over the "presence." Ideally, both matter and are needed to raise a child in the best environment and I had both from both of my parents growing up, but you can't feed nor clothe a child with anyone's "presence."

My dad would do this and post his step kids and their kids but never my brother and I after him and my mom divorced. He also bought them cars, helped buy homes, and helped them with their military id’s and access to base but my brother and I never had got to experience it after the divorce. Now that I’m grown I post my kids (his grandkids), and holidays and accomplishments. He tries his best now to play grandpa by commenting under their post and wanting to be acknowledged but my kids just ignore him. Ik it hurts him because my 2 boys are big in football and my dad was too, ik it kills him now that he isn’t a part of their lives. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I am my fathers only fully black child he doesn’t speak to me but he takes amazing care of his half white children and his “wife” other biracial daughter he’s been to all of their graduations proms etc but I got left in the cold. I’ve healed about to start nursing school this fall and I wish them all the best I will never force myself on anyone

I honestly believe 50 Cent tried his best for his son but the son feels too entitled. He has never denied him in interviews. If one or the other parent doesn’t want kids (depending who it is, because obviously men can’t force the partner who pro choice or not), it kinda is. I think it would be messed up if he did take care of his biological kids, stopped suddenly, then started up again for his step kids. But if he was like that to begin with… The reasoning depends. I can’t be hypocritical because I remember reading a story about a woman who didn’t want kids but was willing to give all rights and child support to the father. But, she wanted NOTHING to do with the baby.

They were with him every night for like 6 - 8 years. He took them with him whist he toured. Maybe he was physically available but emotionally absent? That can be just as damaging… or some of his children are just problematic. I will say this, if I gave birth to a child only decades later to have that child tell me I was more (financially) beneficial to them de@d, after breaking into my home, I’d likely stop dealing with them as well. These days, family will hurt you faster than a stranger. Also you know he gave his children cars as well? I think it’s more about them feeling emotionally neglected unless they’re just entitled… maybe it’s a combination a both.

My dad was like this. My friend whose dad wasn't in her life was always envious of her sister that their dad was in her sister's life. I explained to her that he's only there because he's with her mother. The moment he's done with the mother he'll be done with her too. I also had to explain this to my ex bc his whole family ended up in foster care while his dad was taking care of another woman's kids and the kids they shared. He had a lot of jealousy over that situation. Fast forward the new wife's health has been fading and she's bed ridden. He's still with her, but he leaves her in her own feces and urine. The kids are running amok and have serious behavioral issues and he's always out cheating while they live in a roach and mice infested house. He's still there physically, but he has abandoned them also.
