My name is Damitra Barnes out of Sacramento ca I'll be discussing the first store: Tower heist on Broadway and 16th st 2nd store: Folsom and 59th st. I began working for chipotle on May,26,2022 I was excited to get the job... After a few weeks of working I began to see how chipotle was handling the homeless people who would come inside the store... For example a man came into the store and asked for a cup of water and was turned down and asked to get out the store in a nasty way, and then a white woman came into the store and ordered $57.63 worth of food and when she got to the register she couldn't find her wallet and the manager told her it was ok and that the food was on the house. I was shocked and thrown off of the level of respect they showed this woman as apposed to the Hispanic man that walked in asking for water that they "assumed" was homeless. Paloma the district manager yelled at him at the top of her lungs to get out of her store and I thought this type of behavior needed to be not only documented but corrected, so I reached out to "HR" and they began an investigation weeks later I was told that they handled it in house and I was offered a chance to transfer, this was there was of dealing with it. No one was reprimanded everything was swept under the rug and I took that transfer. The store I was transferring to was still under the same managment guy by the name of Mr. Joel, he was over the store I complained about and the store I was transferring to, I had a feeling that I should have transferred outside of his umbrella of stores but I didn't. I went to my next location met with the manager Ms. Dominga there and the first few weeks were great, I encountered an incident on Dec, 12, 2022 I was on the line and a coworker was digging her fingers in a customers plate as she was making it there bowl and the customer got upset naturally and she got an attitude back with him she dismissed him and walked away from him, I saw this and the customer asked me if I could help him instead which I did I made his food and got him out of the store but the girl came back and began to make the burrito shells wrong she was burning people's shells and I asked her if I could show her a better way to make them and she told me that I wasn't the manager and a sassy way and dismissed me... I later wrote a statement about this incident I spoke with the manager by the name of Cindy who was Domingas apprentice.... And she told me that everything was fine not to worry about it she would have a talk with the girl and that was the end of that. A few days later I was moved off the line and moved to the back of the store to do strenuous work of cutting up food. I was hired to be a cashier or work on the line I wasn't hired to do strenuous work because of my back pains and arthritis in my hands. I accidentally why was I moved and she said that she received a complaint about me on the line I told her that complaint wasn't about a wrongdoing that I had did it was about a co-worker and what she did. Domingo told me she felt like I was being defensive and that I needed to work the position that she put me in I told her okay and left. As the weeks went on I noticed Domingo being embarrassed whenever I would go to the front of the store where I used to work at any time she would see me walking to the front she would look me up and down and tell me to get back to the back but whenever somebody else will walk up to the front from the back she paid them no attention. This type of behavior from her made me feel like she was embarrassed of me as an employee in her store and being one of the only black women there I felt weird about it and develop the self-conscious about myself working there. On January the 15th I was in the back cutting up $700 avocados, when a co-worker by the name of Leslie came up to me and asked me did I touch her cilantro I told her yes I did use it and she snapped at me and told me that she didn't want nobody touching her cilantro I told her I was sorry I didn't know and when she continued to be rude I went to Domingo and told her. Domingo told me that she was the manager and to listen to whatever she had to say and she didn't want to hear anything else. I was shocked because I thought Domingo what chastise Leslie about being rude, but she didn't. Domingo dismissed me and walked away from me and walked towards the office when I followed her to the office she slammed the door in my face.... So I knocked on the door and she opened it and yelled out that I was fired in front of everybody... And I told her that she couldn't fire me I hadn't done anything wrong and that this was crazy... She said whatever demetri you're fired you're causing confusion. I told him I came to her to handle a situation when a co-worker was being nasty and rude and this was how she decided to handle it the question hung in the air she didn't reply back I grabbed my stuff and I left. I sent a statement to Domingo and to her boss j Mr. Joel, and he told me that I needed to deal with dominga and that he had nothing to do with it. On the 17th of January I was contacted by Domingo and she informed me that I was suspended. I reminded her that she had already fired me on the 15th on camera with audio in the office that she yelled it out in front of everybody and I hadn't received my pay within the 24 hours that I was supposed to. She didn't call me back I found out through going on the work day app that we as Chipotle workers use to look at our hours our pay and everything else like that when I went on that app it shows that I was terminated.. I'm now looking for a lawyer to take over my case because I will not lay down and let them treat me like they did without any thing being done about it this was a disaster.
