As a horse owner, I can’t even watch the video. I just want to speak out against this awful sport. It’s absolutely disgusting. My horses are treated with love and respect . They are my children. I just want everyone to know that even horse owners consider this deplorable, and I hope there are harsher penalties. It’s the equivalent of dog fighting to be honest.

It continues bc it was only banned from the shows it’s not illegal. It should be considered ANIMAL CRUELTY in every state! Also Animal Cruelty should have more severe punishment!

They cut the dock of the tail as well , damaging Nerve Endings for life . I don't know if doing this could damage the spinal cord but it is a high probability? . Up for debate?.

I am just learning about this now. People are driving nails into the quick of horses hooves to produce pain. So its the equivalent of having bamboo shoots jammed under your fingernails. But in a horses case they walk on the tip of one giant fingernail. So this is done to them, and then these men just go about their day? Eat dinner, go to bed, while these horses are in unimaginable pain? There has to be no monetary incentive for this sport to go on ONE MORE DAY. FULL STOP.

I own a Tennessee Walker and he is so trusting and sweet. I couldn't make him do that. Its awful. I feel sick thinking that that could have been him.

As a life long horse owner I'm disgusted by the torcher inflicted on these beautiful horses. I'm doubtful those horses will ever trust any human again. It will take a lot of patents and kindness, they've been emotionally disturbed by humans and they'll remember. There are horses who's natural gate in walk is high lifting its natural it's not forced by pain. But sadly all sports involving animals will get these vile people who have no true emotions regarding the animals health and wellbeing it's all about money. I pray that one day this will stop. 😥

The Tennessee Walking horse has a natural gait. An they^re destroying g these beautiful horses. I think all horse owners needs to go to congress and stand up for the Beautiful Tennessee Walkers.

I watched a class of these horses coupoe days ago. There was about 9 horses and one horse riden by lady who went in with only small lifts . The ammazing difference in the movement, the riders ride, the less work of the horse Was 100% better for horse an rider . Noted most men were hunched over . To boot this horse could propery canter . It was so resfreshing to see.

@@rockingkhorses5341 They’re not necessarily inspected by veterinarians and using therapeutic prosthetics for exaggerated gaits before they’re done growing creates long term problems. Many horses take decades to shift their weight to the rear naturally. Pretending this is okay is because it’s run by rich men who seem to know little about horses and care less. Treating them like sports cars, not living beings.

It's only a small percentage that do this. The horses should be shown with regular shoes not the stacked ones with chains on their ankles and tail ligaments that have been cut..

I want to this to every rider and people that are ok with this eye for an eye this is Animal cruelty I have not ever seen a person ride one cause if I did I would throat punch someone. They need to have their tendons cut like they do these horses. These people need to have their Achilles tendons cut and chained to wear high heels and see how they like it this needs to be stopped they should have Animal cruel charges.

That's because it's hard to get recent footage. They are still having shows destroying horses and throwing them away. Go to any livestock auction in the southern states and you will see them being sold for slaughter to hide how much they love their horses.

There are so many misrepresentations here in this video. There are bad people in the sport but I can personally attest to the fact that the vast majority of these horses are NOT sored. People think just because it’s a walker it’s had to be sored but ALL show divisions of the walking horse have their place from country pleasure through padded performance and show horses are very well taken care of in many training barns and are loved by their owners and trainers. This video shows what needs to be fixed but there are many trainers who do right by their horses and in fact the vast majority I would say do. Especially in the flat shod divisions. The amount of regulations in place with the USDA and DQP at shows prevent sored horses from showing and I believe the last time I checked there was an over 95% compliance rate. Let’s weed out that bad 5% and LET EM WALK!!!!

If the horse is wearing stacked shoes and chains on its fetlocks that is the Big Lick style. It's disgusting! A natural gait is what should be shown, not the exaggerated gait.
