Ooh I have one, as soon as you experience the rotary, YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO LEAVE, but unfortunately the car may have other thoughts, and will need a rebuild, like mine did. But it is so worth it!
I bought a salvage-titled 2007 model about 3 years ago for about $9,000 (you can get them _way_ cheaper now); after many mods, I am about to install a Pettit Supercharger and probably blow my engine, and then install a _new_ engine (a _built_ engine the second time around of course), and it's going to be fun as shit! It's true that this car _should_ have been turbo'ed or supercharged from the factory like the legendary RX7 (this was always its Achilles Heel weakness), but it's still a fun car to drift and drive, even stock!
I have a 2007 as well. Bought it on a salvage title in Hawaii for $9,000, with 34,000 original miles on it - been modding it ever since. 2007 is a good model-year for these cars - the first year they really resolved all the engine issues that plagued the 2004-2006 models and worked out most of the kinks. Xavier Flores I was torn between a turbo and a supercharger, since turbos are way cheaper but have the dreaded boost-lag. I almost bought one, but then found my supercharger in the Classifieds section on RX8Club for less than $5k. About 30 minutes ago I also just bought a Black Halo Racing resonated midpipe - not because I'm rich and can afford it, but more just because I love my 8 and have a penchant for poor life decisions lol. ;) You should make an account on RX8Club and just lurk there for awhile if you want - there are so many do-it-yourself posts from RX8 guys, awesome ideas, answers about performance upgrades, wheel fitment, etc. I have several how-to posts myself; my name on there is the same as it is here. @@MrFusion101 Yeah upon further research I've learned this. My only issue with a turbo on a Renesis specifically is the added heat near the exhaust ports and the additional undue stress on the corner seals, as well as the very fickle/precise nature of tuning a turbocharged Renesis without blowing it up with knock/detonation. My supercharger is almost done at this point, I'll be posting a new video on it soon!
#600 68th ive seen some fast one onse but hands down 8s are made for the cornerd not digs... and a well modded tuned maintained 8 could kill an rsx un less he is boosted to
